What was/is your original e-ring size (carat weight of center stone)? This does not include upgraded center stones.

My original e-ring center stone was a 1.07 round brilliant H SI1 and it was lovely (just too small to be proportional to my size 5.75 finger

)

Mine was a 0.82 rb F SI1. Ring Size: 5.5

Two 1-point stones inside an 18K gold oval.

0.73 ct rb stone.

0.5 carat marquise with bagettes on either side with channel set rounds on the shank in yellow gold. I think my ring size was about a 5.5 back then. I''m fatter now, so I wear a 6.

.59ct rb

Mine was 1 carat.

.66 rb in basic four prong yg setting......

1.5 ct F SI1

I still have my original as we have only been engaged since May---
1.72 EC VS1 I. ring size 4.5

.25 k si1 round brilliant

1.20 H VS2 solitaire in a size 5.5

Mine original w-set was a .33 G/VS2 Marquise with 4 .10 rounds (2 on each side of the center stone) = .73 TCW

Mine was a 1.24 K/L VVS2 RB flanked by two small pears. We didn''t know much about buying diamonds, but it was beautiful, and is now a pendant.

.75 RB, E/SI2

.54 pear shaped solitaire in 14k yellow gold

My one and only ering is a 1.6 rb.

That was over 27 years ago!!

It was a RB solitare ~.40ct, and VVS2, G color.

Mine was 5/8 carat. It was 1979.

1.6 rb...shrinkage still hasn''t set it, thank god!!!

Do you mean this engagement or the one before??

Ah, well..the engagement before we were young and dumb about diamonds. It was .50ct pear. NO idea what the stats were on it. I honestly can''t remember if it even sparkled..I know it came from the "maul" though.

But I loved it. Gave it back when I ended it.

This go ''round I''ve not had an upgrade and probably never will. He''s just that way. Although I did get an ''OK'' to search for a RH diamond. Yay! So, it is and always will be (and I am NOT complaining one bit!) a 1.25ct RB solitaire in a Tiffany style four prong setting, h, vs1 and absolutely blinding

. That''s the basics of it.

Mines was .71 ct I/VS1 and now 1.53 tcw H-I/VS same center but knew little sparklies

original was a 0.38ct rb H/SI2 in a bypass design ring that had 6 x 0.02ct channel set rounds = total wt 0.5ct.

I just got mine like 10 hours ago! It''s a 1 1/2 ct princess. I can''t imagine ever upgrading..but don''t quote me on that!!! I LOVE THIS MAN!

I took some pictures of my engagement ring today. I am sure that I will soon be able to get a better photo, but this should do to give you the sense of it.

My original e-ring was a 0.75 ct, VS2, F marquise (1985).

ETA: I was engaged briefly a couple of years prior to the above, but thankfully that relationship did not work out. I was only 19 when I got a 0.50 ct. SI1/2, E-F uncerted heart shape diamond.

Mine was/is 3.22cts--I don''t think I''ll need an upgrade!

AGBF, I love your engagement ring (do you still wear it ? other hand? passed it down?)
I guess I find it really lovely, and its original, I love it!
Especially that the carat weight is .02, the ring is almost design to not foccus on that. Its like a "total package" ring!

When were you engaged?

When were you engaged?

I love it, too, thank you. I do not wear it at present. I actually wear nothing except a plain gold wedding band and a Timex watch on most days. On other days I put in a pair of earrings just to keep the holes from closing.

I would wear the engagement ring regularly if it fit my hand and my current size. I had it made smaller and larger and smaller as I lost and gained and lost weight. Eventually I called a halt to that. Now it is a 5 1/2 and my ring finger is a 6. If I lose weight and become a 5 1/2 ring finger again, I will wear it; if I do not, it just won''t be worn. I think that when I am large, the ring looks too small for me anyway. So that''s a reason to lose weight!

I became engaged when I was 25, in January of 1977. I was married in March of 1977, at 26.

Deb :-)
