Mother''s Day is coming soon...which reminds us that our true "gems" are our children. Mine are grown now, but one Mother''s Day when they were very young, my son came to me and said that he was trying very hard to think of a good Mother''s Day gift for me. He said that he came up with the best idea ever.....He said "Mommy, everyone in the family has a bed of their own, but you have to share yours with Daddy. This year I want to buy you a bed all for you so you won''t have to share anymore."

Each year as Mother''s Day approaches, I recall this and still smile! Got a story of your own to share????

No kids, sorry. But Happy Mother's Day and yes, that's a cute story. Did you ever get your own bed?

No....darn it! I still have to share....with a loud snorer too!

That "having to share the bed", story was so funny...I told my husband about it, which led to the discussion about how I really hated our brand new queensized bed! I'm convinced that it makes him snore...and gave me a sore back!

So, we decided to "Share" our new queensized bed with our son who needed a new one anyways! Then we went out and bought a kingsized "Heavenly Bed" on the weekend! (The beds that they have in the Westin Hotel chains!) Unbelievable...like sleeping on a cloud!

The downside was that it makes my new diamond one more purchase further away! But, on the same note, it makes our list of things we need (want) really short!

And, my husband is insane if he thinks that his motorcycle is next on the list!!

LOL!!! Ahhh yes. Men and their toys! Mine wants a flat panel TV for the bedroom, and when I was little my mother always said, never keep a TV in your room. I always wondered why, but now I know...

Actually, not YET in the market for a good good bed, but hopefully next year. We want to buy a home first, THEN get the permanent furniture...We have a queen size excellent bed, but we are spoiled and want a super soft (with good support) King sized bed (as he's too tall), so that's a project on our wish list...

Oh yeah, and the child's story is my story of when I was a devious child... My parents always kept doors open, and never locked.

They also have a mother-daughter home where their bedroom is on the other side of the house, past the kitchen, past the livingroon, the second kitchen, past their study...

So, I walked there one morning to make sure my mother was awake for breakfast (as I was hungry and she was going to be making it). I was no more than 5, I believe. I try to open it, and LOCKED! I pounded on the door...

A few seconds later, my mother walks casually over and opens the door. I ask suspiciously, "what where you doing in there? Why was the door locked?" She said lightly, "sometimes adults need private time." I answered, "Eeew! You guys are too old!"

She still loves that story, although I am somewhat baffled by what I meant, because I didn't know the meaning of what went on with adult's "alone time" until MUCH later!

My mom gave the same advice about no TV in the bedroom! We have never had one in the bedroom, but only because my husband would never get out of bed!

I tease him about his butt being velcro, and that's why he can't get off the couch! In his defense, his job is intensely physical...and he's usually beat up when he's home that he can hardly move!

The kid does have a TV in his bedroom, and that's because I could not handle all the cords, controllers, and video games everywhere! Plus, keeps the little (and big) boys out of the living room!
