The colors clash but I don't care. I wanted the rose gold for the e ring, and I wanted purple sapphires for the w ring.

Question for all of you...I'm worried about that sapphire rubbing on one of the tulips. Should I wear a spacer?

Choro, that's the most original set that I've ever seen - I love it! I think the colors actually mesh quite nicely: I love amethyst tones and the rich bronze-y color of rose gold together.

As for the rubbing issue ... hm. On the one hand, the way the bands interlock is really nifty. On the other hand, better safe than sorry ... could you post a shot of how they'd sit on your hand?

P.S. - Alternately, you could always have, a) them soldered together, or b) have a custom-made curvy thin spacer made ....

WOW. How original and beautiful. I agree, those colors look great together. And I also agree, a curvy spacer may make the look of your final piece that much more whimsical!

Congrats on such a stunning set!

Ditto! I love the color combo! You could always try wearing them without a spacer, and see what happens. Or go ahead and have a curcy spacer made.

I agree with soldering them together or a custom thin band, maybe they could "notch" the bands somehow so they would "click/stick" together and not move, but could be separated -> interlocking them somehow?

...but WOW! Your set is very pretty and unique! PLEASE post hand pics and some close-ups if you can!

I LOVE IT!!! Your set is absolutely gorgeous.

I don''t know about the rubbing issue with the sapphires, but I''m curious as well.

Circe, thanks for your compliments! You know how to put a good spin on everything [:D] I was kind of worried because these aren''t typical PS style.

BeachRunner, thanks! I''ll ask the jeweler about the spacer.

Sizzle, I''ve never seen purple sapphires either

But I saw pink ones, green ones, and I thought I should get purple!

gecko, At first I thought woah those colors are fighting! But the more I look at them the more they grow on to me.

They don''t twist or turn when they are on my finger. But I think I''ll get a custom spacer just for sanity check.

I LOVE LOVE LOVE THE PURPLE SAPPHIRES!!!! SUPERB COLOR CHOICE!!! i want to encorporate some purple into my rings... i''ve started several topics on stones with purple, i love it i really do. i think they go together perfect!!! your originality [and standing behind what you love regardless of what ANYone thinks] is awesome, and makes me love them that much more!!
GOOD FOR YOU! gorgeous set. congrats!!

musey, thanks! I know sapphires are MOH 9 and Diamonds are 10. But if I remember correctly the MOH scale doesn't decay linearly, so it might not have that much of a damage. But the tulips are the heart of the e ring and I would hate for anything to happen to it.

The jeweler got 8 sapphires, so he gave me the 8th one

Hmmmm, time to think about how to use it...

Cool! I love rings with non-traditionally blue sapphires. It's awesome that you went with what you loved. I really like how they curve together.

And that ER is just fabulous! How did you come up with the designs?

trishy, Thank you! I love mine with the same enthusiasm! I''ve always been a purple person, and it makes me gush that I have purple jewelry. I can''t wait to see yours!!

My cat looked like thie -->

I love your set! It has so much interest, and the colors are beautiful together.

What a lovely set!

ETA, trishy, I just saw your post about blue diamonds. I share your pain! FI and I were originally looking for a blue diamond, even a man made one, within our budget. I hope you find your dream stone. I''ll keep an eye out for it too.

lovinsparkles, thank you! The ER started with a misunderstanding. FI said that we should go custom so I looked at tons of rings. I mainly looked at websites that came back by typing "Unique engagement rings". I realized that I liked swirly delicate designs, and I didn''t like side stones. I wanted to incorporate something about us and FI wanted something leafy, so I put in tulips which were the first (and only

) flowers FI got me.
Then after all the work I put in, FI told me that what he meant by "custom" was to go to a website, take a design, and have them change metals or stones. He did NOT mean complete custom. He felt bad about the work that I put into it and he loved my design too, so we looked for a jeweler for pricing and it was within our budget so we went with it!

The jeweler did say that blue sapphires will be the easiest to find. He loves having us as customers because he doesn''t get that many picky ones

We gave him such a hard time with the e ring with tiny details

Woops forgot the kitty pic.
krockie and Lauren, thank you for your compliments!

One last one with FI''s ring.
Like some of you mentioned, I love how they curve together. Even if the sapphire rubs on the tulips, I love how the center and the two next to it match.

I''ve always thought that sparse stone designs should come in odd numbers. This originally had 8, but I wanted to be sure that I will have a stone at the center.

So beautiful and unique! I loveeeeeeee purple! Very nice selection!

I love your cute kitty too!

It reminds me of tulips in the spring! Pretty!

I actually really like that color combo...congrats!

What a cool set!

Looks like you will probably have a "rubbing" issue. Either do a spacer or be prepared to replace the tulips at some point.

Gasp!!!! What an awesome set choro!

Very cool set choro - as others said, SUPER original, and very pretty and feminine

Very pretty Choro! Now, is there a separate thread for your e-ring? I've never seen pics! (besides your av) It's so lovely!

VERY pretty! I only see metal touching metal - I think you''ll be OK - what''s the opinion of the person who made them regarding a spacer?

choro! i LOVE them!

i''m a huge rose gold fan, and particularly love your engagement ring.

re a spacer: i think they look fabulous as they are, but i also wonder if a spacer would show them up more? kind of make them stand out more? i also wondered if a rose gold spacer might look rather spectacular?

just a thought - i think they''re beautiful.

WOW! I LOVE your set!!! The colours, the design, the flow... just stunning!

I would probably go with a thin curvy spacer for protection... Your FI`s ring is beautiful too!!

Ooh my goodness, I love your set! I have always loved your e-ring, and your wedding band really does compliment it beautifully!
