I used to post on here every now and then. Then law school and the bar exam got the better of my time, and I haven''t been around much. With the wedding just 5 (or so) weeks away, it''s time to get back to wedding planning!

I''m building my OOT bags with local (Arkansas) products in mind, and here''s what I have so far:

-Little bags of chocolate chip cookies from Brent and Sam''s
-Little bags J&M cheese straws (If you''ve never had cheese straws, they''re like little cheesy crackers. Yum!)
-A container of Cavander''s Greek Seasoning
-Bottles of local spring water
-A small bottle of Aromatique hand lotion
-A welcome letter and map
-Post cards

Am I missing anything?

What''s going in yours?

you may want to put an intenerary, with all the times of everything and maybe estimated departure times from the hotel to make sure that they arrive in time. I''m in Atlanta and this is a must, since traffic can be so out of control at certain times.

Maybe a few recommendations for places to each breakfast or lunch nearby for Saturday or before they leave town on Sunday.

It sounds like you have it all covered though!

I''m impressed...I just took the bar as well...I know that I would not have been able to have a wedding so soon after.

Do an itinerary and if you aren't providing transportation, then also include estimated travel times as well. (like lala said)

Since ours was in the downtown area, we put a list of local restaurants that were favorites or just famous in teh area, one of each type of cuisine. Also, be sure to put the contact numbers far any venue you are using. If your guests get lost, they need to be able to call the venue for better directions.

We put touristy pamphlets of things to do around town on Friday or Saturday, for those that weren't involved in the wedding. (ie, museums, zoo's, malls, theme parks, etc.)

We also included one of my favorite cookie, and one of my DH's favorite cookie. They were packaged separately in small celo-bags, each with a ribbon tied around the top and a little tag attached that said "Meresal's Favorite Cookie" and "C's Favorite Cookie". People really enjoyed that.

Also, this is adventurous, but we hand wrote the thank you cards for each of our welcome baskets. Chris did the ones for his and his families guests, and I did the ones for my family and mine personally. Our guests LOVED it!

I really liek how you are doing a local theme! Great!

Hm, I have a while to plan these, but my initial thoughts are:

A salty snack - Don Julio''s Tortilla Chips
A sweet snack - Pecan Pralines (maybe from Mi Tierra)
Bottled Water
Sunscreen - I saw cute labeled bottles for these and now I want them.

Welcome note and information pack
Package - DIY''ed Mexican paper flower decoration (maybe)

What packaging are you using? Are you buying individually packaged snacks or are you doing any repackaging?

I would definately put in an itinerary and any local recommendations on places to eat or things to see.

Thanks for the suggestions. We do have a list of a few things to do in Little Rock, so that''s covered.

As for the itinerary, I''m not sure if I really want to do one. Not everyone is welcome at every wedding event. For instance, I have a lot of aunts and uncles (and so does FI). They''re all invited to the rehearsal dinner, but I definitely DO NOT want them showing up at the rehearsal itself. Dealing with all those people could be a nightmare. Also, the bridesmaid luncheon is another event that not every single person is invited to. (Most of the out-of-town ladies are invited, but the girlfriends of some of the groomsmen are not invited.) I''m afraid putting these events on an itinerary will function as an open invitation, know what I mean? Did any of you deal with this?
