Wow! Everything looks spectacular! Can I ask you a quick question? Did you have your gown on when you signed your ketubah?

And for Selkie,

The view of our venue at night taken by a friend who rowed home. Sounds like something you and your DH would do. Thank you for everything.

Awwww, thanks!! What an amazing shot! You had such a beautiful wedding...

Off topic, do you row with a masters crew? You mentioned something about dragon boats too. I was looking into an aquatic center over in Newport Beach that has both, and I''m seriously thinking of checking it out.

Hi Buttercup, Thank you! yes, we met in the garden beforehand, did some photos, and then signed the ketubah with all of our families around when the guests were coming in and getting seated. Slight snag, hard to have an usher helping people when he is also signing the ketubah. We hadn't figured that out, but my girlfriends took over the job and did a better job of seating than the guys could have. Anyway, I know lots of people do the no seeing the dress or the bride till the ceremony, but the ketubah signing is really the marriage part to me more so than anything other than the Sheva Brahot. Now I have on the wall precise details of how DH is to "advance my happiness." Oh, and are you circling? We circled each other three times (yeah, we are egalitarian), but perhaps practice whatever you do, my dress "tails" wrapped around DH's ankles and we laughingly had to untie him so that he could circle.

Selkie, Dragonboating is never off topic. Right now I''m headed to practice. Yup, on the Charles! Ummmmm, masters crew was a bit more INTENSE than I wanted at this point in my life. So I dragonboat as a fun way to get out on the water with great people. Races are under 3 minutes, festivals last all day and are filled with Chinese food and dancing, its a great combo. I still swim masters, but dragonboating is just for fun. In NY and CA, and all over Canada there are serious DB teams, but look for one that is more social if you are looking for fun and good exercise. It is some serious core work, (I had lost all that strength if you know what I mean), and no weighing in (golden!). But like any sport, you have to find the team that meets your needs. Awesome that you are going out there and trying it! For a 16 or 18 person mixed boat to race in a festival, they usually have to have a minimum of 6 females so they will be happy to see you! When they hear you did crew (and that your DH is into boat repair -does he do fiberglass or is he a purist-) people will start hugging you.

Gorgeous photo! I keep going back to the poppies in the ketubah. Soooo pretty!

Zoe you are too cute! So glad you enjoy! I''m trying to attach a picture of her side yard/garden that I have as my desktop...just makes me happy. And we all know you love bright happy flowers!

Oh wow! Those poppies are in your aunt''s garden? They''re stunning. Thank you for sharing!

Those poppies are completely gorgeous - they almost don''t look real!

I''m stuck on not wearing the gown to sign the ketubah - I''ve just always had that moment of walking down the aisle stuck in my head. . . My gown should be fairly easy to slip into, so I should be able to sign the ketubah and then get into it quickly before Sheva Brahot. (MY photographer isn''t particularly happy with that as it means that all of my pics will have to be taken after the ceremony, but this is one of my "big deal" kind of things that I don''t want to compromise on.) Yes, I will be circling - thanks for the tip about practicing - I ''ll have to get a chair or something to stand in for FI.

Wow- just gorgeous. I love all the pinks and purples! And I especially love the picture of you dancing! We have several of those (I made sure I could bust a move before I bought my dress- I did the running man in the shop) and they are probably my favorite pictures because you can see how much fun everyone is having.

Well, drat! I just realized that there's a team right in my town, but they only practice from May-July, and have already formed the teams for this summer's events. There are several other teams locally, but this one is super convenient. Well, there's always next year. I am going to check this out in July, though: Long Beach Dragon Boat festival.
DH's specialty is traditional rigging, but when we owned a sailboat, he was known to do the occasional fiberglass repair.

Did you go on your honeymoon already, or are you going later?

Buttercup,
It is not the photographer''s wedding. Just do it. Do however make sure that all family members and folks that you want to be there know what time for the ketubah (and please give yourself a bit of a cushion time-wise). Jewish Central Time? And bring good pens. I went to a wedding once where the B&G had forgotten that they needed to write out their names in Hebrew with parent''s names (Sarah ben David v Leah) so we put them on post it notes...not a doc you want to mess up.

Speaking of chairs. Make sure you have two sturdy ones. At a cousin''s wedding the guests decided to just grab folding chairs for dancing and chairs. This does not work. You are going to have such a wonderful day!

Thanks SupahStar!
I can just see the look on the salesladies'' faces at you bustin'' a move. Love it. Fabulous.

Selkie,
You are too cool to be looking for teams! However, I see nowhere on the LA Harbor team site that their teams are already formed. I see "teams forming May through June." It is still june according to my mac. Did you email or call with your interest? Longbeach Festival sounds awesome! Its a fun one, not all serious like US Nationals in SF in Sept. You can do it!

Going to Argentina in August for over a week and friends'' wedding! Can. Not. Wait. But am crewing odd weeks for some folks at the vineyard this summer. Am getting perhaps too old for that scene, but the ship is so loverly. Will miss DH! When are you and your DH coming to new england this summer?

ARGENTINA??? How awesome is that! Will you travel around, or are you staying in a particular city? Ooooh, which boat are you crewing on in MV? I keep telling to DH to apply for a job at Gannon & Benjamin.

Is your DH a boat person too? I take it he''s stuck working over the summer?

We probably won''t make it to NE this summer. We''ve got a trip to Port Townsend (WA) Wooden Boat festival planned in September, and are going to visit DH''s folks in Florida this winter. Then, my cousin is getting married on a cruise to Nova Scotia in June 2009 and after that we''ll definitely be spending at least a week, probably on Vineyard and Nantucket. So anyway, lots of trips planned, and little money to spend=no visits home this year.

Lanterns for Gypsy. We had to stand still and didn''t do a good job of that, so that our photog didn''t have to use a flash.
Hugs for everything, hope your appt goes well in the am.
Thank you for your inspiration.
Honey, I just saw this (I''m blind). More than welcome for any inpiration! Funny thing is, since I switched venues we aren''t using lanterns any more, but looking at your pics makes be want to buy a few and put them outside. Do you have a pic of the back of your gown bustled, BTW? I''d love to see how it turned out! Your pics look great, and you look so beautiful. I saved the pic of you and your bouquet and sent it to my photographer as a ''must'' take.

Sorry took so long to catch up and see your post to me! ((HUGE HUGS!!))

Oh thank you sweetie! Hugs back! I''m glad you liked the flowers and feeling fab to point you towards a good shot. I''m not in love with the fisheye lens that my photog does seem to love, but it makes for some neat shots. Hm, now I can''t tell if that bouquet one was fishy or not. Here is a garden shot because I''m working on the album and waiting for the olympics to come on.

Looking for bustle pictures...
Here is a decent one of the back of the dress. DH had tears just gushing so I wiped them away with my Nana''s hanky. I did not understand how hard it is to walk in a wedding dress. Nothing like standing around getting it altered.

found a bustle and flower pic! like a 2for1 now just hoping its not too small, I''m terrible with sizing. Thanks again for finding that Amsale pic. Mine was a bit diff, since it was dupuoni silk with no stiff stuff behind, but it got more oompfy as a result of everyone''s input.

Your wedding was gorgeous, I keep meaning to post in your thread! I am a big fan of purple and your wedding site is the BEST! It would have fit perfectly into my wedding theme (marie antoinette) I''m jealous!

The photo taken on the ''row home'' was awesome as well. Your wedding had so many nice details, one of my faves on here!!

I love your flowers! Great location and great photos.

Thank you for your kind words Violet and Addy!
You are giving me energy to work on this endless album project.
