Hi Indy :wavey:

How are you?
I am still looking for a pair of every day earrings. If you remember I returned the BGD small huggies, and I am now considering a pair of studs in the range of 40-50ctw.

I remember you getting a pair from ID jewelry, and I was wondering if they were pre-set, or if Yekutiel chose the stones himself?
What did you think of them IRL, and what colour/clarity are they?
Do you have any pics?
I hope you enjoy them every day :))

I am sorry to ask so much but I can't seem to choose stones that small on the ID jewelry website, and the preset pairs are about 450$ for .40ctw.

Yekutiel is searching for diamonds for bezel studs for me. I contacted them last month to see if milgrain could be added when I was in my "scouting" stage. They could. Shortly after that a PSer posted some studs with milgrain from ID. That sealed the deal! So many people are getting studs from ID! Great minds :wink2:. I want something between .40-.50 ctw. and excellent performers so Yekutiel is going to look for me. You should just call him. He was very helpful. We might end up with twin earrings! Are you getting bezels or prong set?

Yes, the appeal of ID studs spreads wide :)) . You must be thinking of Circe's gorgeous pair. Yes, I will be getting bezels too, and was considering milgrain, but I think I prefer that look for vintage stones (something I am also considering). Decisions, decisions... :))

I initially saw a pair of H SI2s with a tcw of .91, which would have been ideal. I emailed several times (I'm in in the UK, so it's easier) but ID has some technical issues and I never heard back. Then I called, and someone was going to call back but they didn't. All in all, I lost out to a fellow Pricescoper. I'm still waiting for pics to surface on this forum. Unfortunately, Yekutiel didn't have anything great for a couple of months after, so I started searching again, and found 1 nice stone at ID and another elsewhere. I called both vendors, and ID were going to confirm availability and call back, but they haven't.

So you see, I wasn't very lucky. Working with Whiteflash sure beats this experience, but I think ID offer good value and a nice range, and I will give them another go. That's why I am looking for opinions on the finished result, and Indy got some studs in the size we are aiming for (I have since decided to aim for smaller size and get a pendant done too, instead of getting larger studs) but she never posted pics. I wonder if she kept them.

Hi dinamit! :wavey: I'm after something in the 1.20ctw(ish) range, price dependant of course, I'm happy with well-cut, eyeclean I-Js, in white gold martinis. I've been emailing them over the last few days and had no response too, I figure it's a bad time of the year with the holidays and whatnot, but like you say, it's worth persisting!

Pixies, I look forward to seeing what you end up with, I love milgrained bezels!

Oh, that's a really nice size you are aiming for. I am being really indecisive. I initially looked in the .90tcw range, but then decided I want smaller bezels for every day. I have since bought a beautiful .69 OEC for a pendant and the vendor has a nice match. Those stones would make killer studs, only I wouldn't have the pendant :sick: . I keep thinking I should get the other stone just to have more options down the line...

The lovely Luann replied to me today and she's on the hunt for a pair of stones in the desired size within my budget, I'm not in a hurry for them so am happy to wait for the perfect pair to come along. YAY! :appl:

Mine were pre-set because I was in a hurry, but Yekutiel chose the pair for me. I originally wanted bezels, but Yekutiel said that the diamonds on this pair where great and that it would be a better choice over the pre-set bezels that were in stock at the moment. I'm totally happy with my decision and that trusted his judgment.

What did you think of them IRL, and what colour/clarity are they?
They're H/I SI.

The questions are no problem at all! I asked a ton before I bought these, and I am really glad I did. They also come with an upgrade policy, which I am already considering putting into use. :devil:

For those of you that are emailing--I've had trouble emailing them as well. Every-time I've called during business hours though, I've been successful. IIRC, Yekutiel's email address is [email protected]. The ID Jewelry site is hard to navigate as well, and I share in your frustrations even though I appreciate ID's quality, service, and value.


ETA: Wow-Dina, it sounds like you have been VERY patient with them and that ID has been unresponsive. Have you been able to speak to Yekutiel directly?
 
Settings only at both Whiteflash and BGD are expensive!

The settings on my ID studs are hefty and sturdy--definitely more so than any other studs I own. So, I think I got quite the deal as I've never seen half carat studs for less than I paid elsewhere.

It's so cool that the ID presets come with an upgrade policy. I guess I will just try to talk to Yekutiel as I got nowhere. Unfortunately, I lost the match for my OEC through hesitancy, so I definitely need to get a pair of bezel studs. I actually prefer that they use sturdy baskets for the bezels, instead of the martini-like flat bezels (hope that makes sense). I don't understand why Yekutiel couldn't reset the stones into bezel settings for you?

Were the earrings bang on your budget? I remember what it was from the other thread about the huggies vs. studs.

I am soooo looking forward to your pics! :cheeky:
