Paraiba Tourmaline Ring... 15+ cts!?

Hi all!

We had family friends over recently, and I had the chance to see this beauty up close... it's amazing. Pics are totally craptastic, so apologies...but the neony goodness is still apparent... I thought PSers may appreciate these pics, bad as they may be!

What do you guys think the carat weight is? I was so shocked that I forgot to ask!!! She also had the most amazing coral peau d'ange ring...I can't wait to visit her and play with her jewelry box lol.

It is truly huge and looks like it has the glow, but I'm still back at being stunned by you coming across someone in your normal life who actually knows what a paraiba tourmaline, and has one in their possession!

My guess is 12-14ct maybe a little larger. It's an elongated oval (which makes it look larger) and I suspect has a shallow cut so will probably face up larger. Very nice indeed!

For reference this is an 18 ct that has a deep cut (over 10mm depth) and isn't elongated so is a chubby cousin of your friends one!
