Okay, I''m 99.99% sure I''ve found the stone I want from WF. And I think I''m ready to take the next step and actually get the stone!

I''ve read about all the switching stuff that happens online and all that stuff and I have to admit I''m still a little apprehensive about purchasing over the internet. I know everyone on PS has been completely satisfied with their WF purchases and from what I''ve read so far(plus the fact that my roomie''s brother purchased from WF), they are an extremely reputable vendor.

I''ve read about the different methods of independent verfication, like they send every diamond they sell to an independent apparaisor that certifies the diamond separately. I''ve also heard that they can ship it to an appraisor where the purchaser can see the appraisal too. I was just wondering what options I had and how all that works... I''m planning on calling today, so any help you guys could provide would be a Godsend!

btw - what time are they open until?

i think with this vendor, their reputation speaks for itself, as you already know!

and, since you''re going to give them a call, i''m very sure they can answer all your questions and put your mind at ease.

let us know how it goes!

Jay, I am sure once you call them and talk to them, you will be surprised how they are willing to bend over backwards to help you out. I am planning on calling myself today or tomorrow to get my purchase squared away.

don''t be paranoid!
i know...sometimes it''s easier said than done.

yes, wf sends a letter of verification.
yes, you could have someone else verify the verification.
you could even have someone else verify that particular verification of the verification

where does it end?
wf is a very reputable company and they will not intentionally switch your diamond or send you something other than what you have purchased. if you need to spend the extra $$ just to be sure, then do what you need to do in order to feel comfortable with your purchase. if you want to go the appraiser route, you will need to work that out with them. or just have it shipped to you and take it to the appraiser of your choice.

Thanks for giving so much advice to a rough rock like me!

I''m gonna call as soon as I get a chance to.

You guys don''t even know how much LESS paranoid I''ve become since interacting with you guys! HA HA HA!

I blame it on my family

I think they''re open until 6 pm, Texas time (central?).

They''ll answer any questions you have, and they''re not pushy at all. I''ve been talking to them for a couple weeks, and I''m still not feeling pressured, just more reassured.

:)

Good luck!

What are you looking at getting?

Argh&Stuff, you changed your sn right?

I''m hoping to get an ACA .807 G SI1 diamond... I''ve posted the link on another post, and after much scrutiny, I think I''m set on that one.

Wish me luck!

Haha, yeah I did. I thought a "girly" name would make me appear questionable.

Ha ha ha. I went through the same thing thinking about a frickin name. So I thought I''d just do away w/ all that worry and go w/ the one I always use. It would be hard to find my posts w/ a different sn anyway w/ the bad memory I have...

I did it though, I called! They pulled the stone and I think the ball has begun it''s roll!

Awesome!

I wish I could say I''ve done the same. I''m still trying to figure out some stuff.

Good luck!

I went with this one

Well, they''re still certifying it for me, but I love it. I can''t take my eyes off it. I kept going back to the site like every 1/2 an hour to make sure it was still there...so I finally just called them and placed it on hold. It was exactly what I was looking for, even better than what I was looking for I think. So I couldn''t pass it up. They say you know when you fall in love w/ the stone, and I think I have....

Cool. I just looked it up. Nice job, man.

It says "sold" right across the top of the link, too. :) I bet that''s a good feeling.

Does your girl know it''s coming?

I know, the "SOLD" thing totally got me all ansy...

I hope she doesn''t know it''s comin. But she''s a pretty sharp gal...she might have some sort of inkling, I''d rather believe, for my own sake, it''s a total surprise though, he he he. One of my good friends who recently got married took her to Ben Bridge when they were in town, cuz she needed to get her ring cleaned. So, she had her try on some rings. That''s how I got a better idea of what she wanted. I thought I was gonna go w/ a princess cut at first, only to find out she really wanted a round. And I think my ACA will knock her socks off!

But yeah, I''ve tried to mask the weekend when I''m gonna ask as best as I can. It''s hard sometimes though, cuz I have to remember to clear my history just in case she accidentally types something like Pricescope on my internet browsers. And we spend a ton of time together, so it''s hard to fabricate a reason why I can''t be with her some days, he he he.

Surprise or no surprise, everything is going to be great. I wasn''t surprised, I knew he had the ring and he TOLD me what setting he had made and everything. I was however FLOORED with the timing. He proposed at home while we were watching TV (he''s NOT romantic) but I would have known something was up if he wanted to go out. He worked at the time as a mortgage consultant and told me he had a closing, but he was really driving to my parents house to ask permission.

IMO you can''t go wrong with Whiteflash, I''ve bought many many times from them and their service is great. I won''t make a diamond purchase anywhere else.........my E-ring, earrings and pendant are all from there, plus I had them make me a RHR and another band. I keep going back and back. When you talk to them, they put your name in their computer and keep all correspondance together. Each time you talk to them, they know exactly what was talked about before. It''s fabulous service.

Good luck in your diamond search, do you know which diamond you are going to choose? People on the board here can give you opinions on what they think of the stone. For me, I didn''t choose ACA, I went with the bargain priced Expert Selection and I couldn''t be happier.
