Paula''s Home Cooking?

My favorite food network shows are Giada's Travels, I use to like Rachael Ray but now she bugs me too much, Alton Brown, Paula because she is so warm and friendly and lots of times I just leave it on for background noise. I guess Sandra Lee has a new book out which is suppose to be her rags to riches inspirational story. I don't really like Sandra Lee but she reminds me of someone I know but I think it is weird how into cocktails and mixed drinks she is and the table decorations are too much.

Giada said that she hated being in front of the camera at first on some behind the scenes. I like Mario Batali (sp?) and I do watch the Iron Chef from time to time.

How fun to work for the foodnetwork Charger!!! I think these shows make people want to try out recipes. Paual has a devine banana bread recipe and her cheese biscuits

I forgot about Duff!!! I loooooooooooooooooooooooove Ace of Cakes. It looks SO FUN to work there!!!

Ditto! What a fun job to work for Food network!!

Doesn''t someone from PS work (or used to work) for the Food Network? I could be wrong, but I thought I remembered that from a while back. I don''t watch it too much anymore because then all I''ll think about is food and I really don''t need that.

I love Paula Deen but my FI can''t stand her. I don''t think I''d like all of her super rich food and southern way of cooking but some of the things I''ve seen look doable. I love Tyler and my FI loved Giada. I swear though, the way she busts out of her shirts is rather annoying. Yeah, my Fi doesn''t watch her show for the recipes...

I like Robin''s show and I especially like how she comes up with several recipes for a week''s worth of dinners. I haven''t personally tried her stuff yet but I like her.

I can''t decide how I like Ina. She seems a little snooty. The way she laughs bothers me for some reason. It seems fake.

Rachel Ray is a little over the top I think. I like 30 Minue Meals but ever since she got really famous and now has her talk show, I don''t love her quite as much as I used to. I blame it on Oprah (who featured her on the show and then kept asking her back, I think). I liked Rachel more pre-Oprah.

Sandra Lee is a twit. I HATE HATE HATE how 1) her decor is so matchy-matchy. NO ONE LIVES LIKE THAT. 2) everything with her is a theme. 3) she orders you to do things *her* way. Like, she''s always saying things like, "now I want you to..." Well, what if I didn''t want to do it that way? What if I did it a different way? (okay, maybe that''s why I can''t cook...things don''t always come out as expected.

). But seriously, she has to stop ordering people around. As nice as she seems, i still don''t care for her.

BTW, Giada''s boobs are only going to be getting BIGGER from here on out...she''s pregnant, due in April, and is having a girl...!!

I saw her say that on the Today show. Is she now a regular on that show?

I am enjoying the Next Iron Chef! Also the show Mission Impossible w/the chef who does not know who has to cook for and has 6 hours to plan the meal.
I love watching the holiday shows for ideas! I will watch the Thanksgiving one's; Ina made a yummy looking pumpkin banana pie.

FI calls Giada "T*ts and Teeth" because her "smile" is always showing. I believe Paula Deen's husband is independently weathy but retired. He's definitely not a gold digger. I love watching the Food network. It's my default channel if nothing else is on. I'm always down for watching Paula, Ina, Giada, Robin, Alton,Etc. I'm not a huge fan of Emeril or Rachel though and I really don't care for Amy, Sandra, or Ingrid.

They said something like she was a regular contributor? But that was the first time I saw her on there...

Who do you want to win Next Iron Chef? The 2 left are my favorites but out of both, I really love John Besh. Go John!!!! I can't wait to see the finale. He beat Mario Batali when he was a challenger on Iron Chef, and it is almost impossible to beat Mario, so I think he'd be a great Iron Chef!!

I saw the Thanksgiving Special last night (and will probably tape all the rest even though I've seen 'em a billion times) and that pumpkin banana mousse tart looked GOOD. Was thinking about trying that.

BTW, nobody has mentioned Nigella yet. I just LOVE her. I watch the show to watch her cook, not really for her recipes...she has the most interesting vocabulary to talk about food. Her Chefography episode (where they chronicle Food Network people's histories) was so interesting and tragic. She's lost a lot of loved ones, including a sister and a husband.

FI also likes Nigella. He thinks she'd be crazy (in a good 'guy' way) in real life. He thinks SL is an alcoholic ex-stripper/**** star. He also has serious doubts about whether Ina's husband is straight. Watching FN is so much more of an event in our household. We really analyze the show. Oh, did anyone notice that RR's recent makeover (when she started her new talk show) included a new set of tatas?

Ina, Tyler, and Robin cook the kind of food I like to cook so I watch them the most for ideas. The rest is purely for enjoyment-sake.

Oh, and I want the bald guy to win the Next Iron Chef as he has a lot of personality. Did anyone notice that arron almost cried when he was told he couldn't complete his prawn dish and then when he was kicked off??

Love the Food Network! Paula Dean''s bling is blinding

I just love the necklaces that Giada wears. Anyone know exactly how to describe them? Maybe a DBTY and a couple of pendants at different lengths? I love the look.

I have seen Giada everyday on Today everytime I tuned it.
Here is a shot of her necklaces too; I love them!!!! Especially the bottom left corner.

FireGoddess, I don't have anyone in particular I want to win the Iron Chef. They both are very interesting and very very different. John looks a little like the late John Ritter.
I think it is funny to see the judges go at it over their favorite meals. . . especially that lady and the Gourmet Chef editor; looks like they would like to fight. hehe With that melon dessert I knew that that one chef would not win; too everyday and not enough complexity. I am excited to see the show next in Kitchen Stadium. I wonder who will win.

FG, that was the Thanksgiving show I watched last night too. hehe

I love Giada''s DBTY necklaces - that''s a really great picture of them Skippy! Wish I had that when I was first trying to figure out what her necklaces were!!! That long brown haired Next Iron Chef judge irks me - he gets into little fits about his snooty food tastes it seems - the other judges seem more down to earth (except for the blonde guy''s rant about being irritated that Besh called his watermelon soup a consomme when it wasn''t *completely* clear liquid
20.gif
)

I was glad to see Arron go - it was his time to exit. I thought it was lame about the shrimp dish when he was like, ''I thought we had extra time to plate''....since when? Der.

I did NOT realize Rachel''s makeover came with tatas. I will pay closer attention next time.

We suspect it did, but they''re very modest. What can I say, FI pays attention to those things I guess. He said they were pancakes (lil saggy) before and now they''re lemons (perky).

Wow....what a great photo of Giada''s necklaces!!! I just love the look.

Skippy, thank you for posting those

My husband and kids and I love to laugh at Sandra Lee. She must be out of her mind. All that effort to decorate but she barely cooks. Also, she seems more excited about the cocktails than anything else. She was married to the President of K&B Homes and got a HUGE divorce settlement from what I hear.

We are Ina fans.

Did anyone catch the finale to the Next Iron chef?? Wow, Symon, I didn''t see that coming; I thought it was weird how they voted. I like the break down they usually do by grading presentation, taste, etc.

I am excited about the holiday special Iron Chef w/Paula Deen.

I bet that will be a funny Iron Chef!
