Hey! This is my first post here, but I’ve been reading and researching on this site for the past 8 months. I went from having little-to-some knowledge to being equipped with enough knowledge to be dangerous when I walked into B&M stores. I wanted a GIA diamond, but I was shocked on how many stores wanted to sell me diamonds that were not GIA certified. One even asked me why would I want a GIA certified diamond; they are no different from the rest. One even told me that EGL cert. is on the same level as a GIA cert. because the founder of EGL used to work with GIA??? I told them if they offer GIA diamonds or can even source it, why should it matter if that’s my preference? It was priceless to see the look on their face when I actually spoke about certain details and specs on the diamond that I was looking for. All of the B&M stores were very expensive, so I started to look for alternatives….this is how I ran across PriceScope….which led me to Whiteflash, who is local to me! Victoria is the ultimate person to work with. She was patient with me during the diamond selection process and we eventually found the beauty that I was looking for. I wanted a diamond, something different from the typical. This is when I fell in love with the fancy Pear diamond. I purchased my diamond through Whiteflash and will not hesitate to work with them in the future.
With the diamond in hand, I wanted a beautiful, custom setting to mount the diamond in. I didn’t want a “mass produced” engagement ring, so after plenty of searching and reading, my path lead me to Mark Broumand. This guy is a charm to work with. For anyone who has worked with him on this site, they will vouch this guy is patient, quick to return calls and e-mails…just a true professional! I fell in love with the rings on his site; the details in his rings are beautiful. After I finally decided on the design that I wanted, it took Mark a little over 3 weeks to complete the ring (he provided status updates during this process). I was nervous to send the diamond off since he is in LA and I’m in Houston, but I could tell he was a professional and after reading posts on this site, I was eased. The pictures does this ring no justice. It is beautiful in person and I plan on working with him in the near future for him to create the diamond wedding band that will sit flush with the ring. I received the ring this past Friday…now I have to take the next step on my end, which is purpose to my girlfriend. She will love the ring and I can’t wait to give it to her. I will provide an update to this post after I purpose so you can see actual photos of it on her hand. I got the ring appraised by Mark, but I will go to an independent appraiser here to get another assessment.
Enough of me rambling, let’s look at the pics. Please let me know what you guys think. I think that I did well.
