I have a lovely .63ct OEC, 5.4mm and H VS. I would like to use it in a pendant, and almost pulled the trigger before christmas on a design, but chickened out. I like a MUCH more substantial neck presence that this lone diamond can give. Ideally I like "coverage" in the 10mm+ range. So I am looking for ideas and inspiration for a pendant design that involves a larger gemstone and the diamond -- the gemstone to be chosen later, so I am open to color and chape. I don't like a drop style necklace that dangles, somehow that feels too precious to me. But otherwise I am lost!

Any ideas?

Very pretty stone! Well, unless you have a diamond and then the dangle with colored stone in something beneath it, I can't quite see how you can do it! I save pendant designs and I just don't have anything except ones with colored stone melee. (You could do a non-dangle by having the round bezeled on top and the colored stone bezeled on the bottom, though. Let me look.)

That is pretty! I do think it would be much easier to get to 10mm with designs like this! I have more similar to this saved.
 
That is such a pretty diamond. It'd be a shame to clutter it w/too many surrounding stones. I like the gold bezel DS posted.

I believe the diamond in the inspiration picture was only a bit bigger than yours (.75-.85 range). I don't recall which, but my tourmaline was 8 or 9mm.

this design is similar to kismet's. in fact, this website has some interesting designs. i have picked two that i like. i know you dont like dangly stuff, but these are not so dangly, and just reread the brief you gave.. not quite what you described but can get some ideas?????

I know this doesn't make it bigger...but one of the prettiest pendant's I've seen was a graduated DBTY :naughty: . That could be your middle stone in a bezel... :Up_to_something:

it took me a while to find where I had tucked this picture away...

sorry - no idea where I saved it from (I was looking for rose cut ring setting inspiration)

but I thought the rose cut could be replaced with a CS??

not sure if it is possible to do this - but perhaps you could bezel that beauty now and then add the second stone later??
