Hi all,
I just wanted to write a quick post and let folks know where I ended up with my diamond search. I ended up going with a 2.22, F, VS1 old mine brilliant stone from Leon Mege and Perry Chen. Picture posted below. That all said, I wanted to give my quick two cents on all the people that were incredibly helpful, gracious and selfless with this time in my search.
Nikko Kandhari from Geoffrey's in San Carlos, CA: Nikko was the first person I worked with and he went ABOVE and BEYOND to try and find me the type of stone I was looking for. He was patient with my stupid, amateurish questions and never gave me the hard sell. He always looked out for my best interest and insisted I find the stone that worked for me regardless who I bought it from. I can't speak highly enough of Nikko and I would recommend him to anyone. I will likely work with them to get my wedding bands given proximity for me and the fact everyone there is so nice. Here is their website: http://www.geoffreysdiamonds.com/
Chris Anadiotis from Engagement Rings Direct: I contacted Chris based on the feedback from this board on ERD and their expertise in cushions. Although I never actually saw any stones from Chris (I was already deep into my search), he was always there to give me advice (on appraisers, gemologists, what to look for in stones) even when there was no economic benefit to him directly. He knows a ton about diamonds and he's an exceptionally nice person. I would highly recommend him and ERD.
Perry Chen from Leon Mege: Perry was great to work with as well. He found some of the best chunky, OMB cushions i have seen and the one I am going to buy is a beautiful stone. He is easy to work with via email and phone. The only downside was that I had to pay insurance and shipping for my stone to be sent out to San Francisco to look at -- the cost was over $400, but it was worth it to me to see it in person. They don't do ASETs, so I felt like i needed to see it despite Perry's discerning eye. I highly recommend Perry if you are looking for a great cushion cut stone
Thank you lastly to everyone on this board who took the time to reply to my threads. Everyone here has been incredibly helpful!
