I was actually at a wedding where there were cards out (not handed around). There was just a small pile (business card size) laying at the bar. I think it depends how the card is worded. It said something like, "See Heidi and Rick''s photos at www.....login:ABCDE, password:kjio" I felt like I was getting a sneak peek at their photos.....and wanted to see if I was in any! Whereas if they say "Like what you see? Purchase their photos at www....." which sounds awful!
I''m surprised they bother. Do you know anyone who has ever bought off the website? This guy wanted $7 per 4x6!!
My FI wanted to purchase 1 goofy shot from his cousin''s wedding, but then it came back with "requires $35 minimum!!!" Forget it!

I''m very glad it worked out for you. What a huge relief!!!

UPDATE!!!

She emailed me back and said not to stress about it, if I didn't want any cards at all, she wouldn't bring any.

Yayyyy, I am glad I emailed her back...I told her I really would rather not have any, but if she really wanted some, she could just put them on that exit table (that really doesn't bother me).

Ok, I'm feeling better now!!

Interesting tidbit, both my photographer and my videographer are from PA!! (I'm in FL). It's just a funny coincidence since I booked them completely separately!

M~
Yay! I'm glad that it all worked out for you! I only skimmed the responses, so forgive me if this has already been mentioned, but something that I thought was kind of cute that I've seen done before is having one of your engagement pics on the business cards and then something along the lines of what winston26 said "see Mandarine's photos online at www.wherever.com on whenever they'll be available." They were placed on the table with our name cards on it.

ETA: Is your photographer currently still living in PA or she's just from PA originally?

Nope, Mandarine, I still don''t think you''ve even come close to reaching Bridezilla status at all through any of this wedding planning, and you''re in the home stretch, my friend!

I''m so glad to hear the photographer understands your position and is going to be accommodating. However, I also think it would be a lot of fun for there to be pictures of you and your FI with the link to the pictures for your guests to take at the end of the night, but only if they choose to. I know that as a former BM in many weddings, and also as a guest at several, it would''ve been fun to catch a sneak peek of the wedding photos soon after the wedding. And though I wouldn''t want to necessarily spend my hard-earned money on professional picture costs, you never know...there could be a once-in-a-lifetime shot that just might be worth it to some guests, and besides that, they get an up-close and personal look at all of the details that they might''ve missed throughout the day, which would be great. I would totally look up the photos if I had the link, and think it would be great to have access to them, but not in a solicitory way at all.

I agree that you have gone above and beyond by linking your photographer on your website, and I hope she realizes that word of mouth can go a REALLY long way! I hope it all works out the way you want!

Our photographer brought cards, but did not really hand them around. I didn''t even know she had them. I guess she may as well have handed them around though because lots of people ended up asking her where they could go to see the pictures. I guess people in my area are used to the business card thing and expected them.
