Been there, done that, before I knew more about pearls many years ago, and I still have my first ever "pick a pearl from a tank" back in the mid 90s as it has sentimental value (a 6mm blue Akoya, think it is natural and not dyed, however, I could be wrong).
However, I follow Kamoka Pearls' Instagram feeds and had met Josh in person when I was in Los Angeles back in 2016 during a pearl related event, and thought it would be great to be able to pick one of their live oysters and have it opened by them in front of me to harvest the pearl.
I am lusting after their blues as blues are my favourite.
Perhaps one on my bucket list, as the trip is not going to cheap!
