Love the pics ladies! I''m glad you''re leaning toward the rose gold band Dee!

It was amazing...just like Catmom''s yellow radiant!

Ooohhh, Catmom... those earring are really beautiful. I love the color of the topaz!

DeeJay, love your earrings and the pave band. I think I like thinner one, too. I like the proportions better than the thicker one on your hand. Very, very pretty!

Thanks, Portia! They really are a more vibrant color than what came out in the ear shot.

OOooohhh you got some nice new pretties! Sounds like a fun time, though it would be hard to resist all that bling; glad you could bring home some of it

Dee*Jay, I had seen a pic of earrings like those and didn''t imagine they would look like yours... I really like them... beautiful!

FUN! I love the new bling! Dee Jay, your new earrings are so pretty! And another vote for the thinner band! It just looks better on your hand, I think!

I like your earrings too, Catmom! And the necklace is cool, too!

And Dixie, what exactly is a mystic? I''m assuming it''s a type of gem? It looks really pretty from the pics! The pinks look pretty, too!

P.S. I want to know who''s who in the pics! I know who Dee Jay is and I figured out Catmom from the ear shot with blonde hair, so who''s Dixie and who''s Irish Angel?

You're very welcome. You will have pics as soon as I'm able to take them!!!

Thing2, I'm all the way on the left and Dixie has the gorgeous long brown hair. =)

The smaller rose gold. Definitely. Beautiful!

Great pictures of everyone! It looks like there was much success during your trip!!

DeeJay - Both bands are beautiful, but I prefer the thinner band on you. Please know that I prefer smaller rings.
Catmom - Great earrings!!!
Dixie - your pendant sounds fun.

I actually went to the gem show with my BF on Saturday (1ish to 5ish), which was something we had not planned on attending. We had plans to be in the area that day, but they fell through, so we made it out there. I had no idea the show would be so large!! How did I miss "bubbler" jewelry cleaners, I would have totally bought one, if I saw them. All I saw were people offering to clean your jewlery with this sticky stuff, which made me nervous. I did not end up buying anything, as my budget it tight due to the holidays. However, there was sooo much temptation...

Great pics! You all look beautiful of course...and your purchases are gorgeous as well. I''m so sorry I didn''t make it this time around, but I have to say i really enjoyed my day off of just relaxing and not having to do a darn thing. DH was happy too, since of course I wasn''t spending money on jewelry, LOL! I am sad I missed meeting up with all of you, but with what, 4 gem shows a year here, there''s always another chance to see you in the future.

Michelle, I am in love with those topaz earrings, they are simply gorgeous, I bet they look great on you! Dixie, glad you got the mystic pendant (didn''t you get the earrings last time, so now you have a set?) and I love the pink set you got as well. DeeJay, your earrings are really pretty, what a fun style!

Again, sorry I missed this go-''round but I hope to come next time. I hate to say this, but with my work situation there are times when I am just "blinged-OUT!"

Thanks, Monnie and Omieluv! Monnie, we''re sorry you weren''t able to make it. I can see why your hubby was happy and oh by the way...........................your emerald ring was still there waiting for you! Maybe next time.

Dixie, we need to see some pics of your new purchases!

Thanks for the compliment Skippy and Omieluv. I know that I asked what the pink set was but now can''t remember.

Thing2of2, here''s what I found about the Mystic Topaz: A recent trend in jewelry is the manufacture of topaz specimens that display iridescent colors, by applying a thin layer of titanium oxide via physical vapor deposition, this stone is then sold as ''mystic topaz''. Thanks for asking b/c I didn''t know that either.
I think the pink is also a Topaz but not 100% sure.

Thanks Irish, for the compliment on my hair!

One of these days I''ll actually make it to the lunch portion of the get-together so that I can get to know you gals a little better.

Monarch, I''m sorry you couldn''t make it either but I can totally relate to needing a day at home. I''m hoping this weekend will provide that for me. I am exhausted! Yes, I did get the earrings and bracelet last time so now I have a set of the Mystic Topaz. I''m wearing the pink set today and really like it.

Catmom, sorry about the lack of pics. I am so bad about taking pics of anything and posting them. I should be able to do that tonight though. Your earrings look great, btw!

DJ, did you make a decision about the ring?

Thanks ladies, I had a fun time at the show.

Beautiful jewelry, ladies! I''m glad you had fun at the show.

Yea! You are all gorgeous! Nice shopping, one and all!

Hmm, four times a year here, eh? That would mean the next one is, what, March?

Jas, I think they are three times a year. End of May/beginning of June, end of Aug./beginning of Sept, and early/mid December. The next one in Rosemont is on the schedule for May 23. Can we count you in?

I''m SOOOO in! I''m a gonna start cleaning my ering NOW.

Oh you changed your avatar! Who is that furry baby?!

Ah, so much fun to be had at those shows!

Dee Jay, do you know the vendor for the band?
I''m drooling over them! SOOOO Pretty.

Oh you changed your avatar! Who is that furry baby?!
I would make a joke and say that it's me before my morning beautification, but that hits a little close to home this morning (I'm feeling a little bow-wow, if ya know what I mean.)

That fabulous furry baby is George the Wonder Fuzz. That's his "puppy fur" -- he's not nearly as poofy now, but still manages to shed tumbleweeds of fuzz.

He's quite the character. Although it looks like he's missing an eye, he's not. He's got a lot of Siberian Husky in him, so he's got one blue and one brown eye and it doesn't show clearly in the avatar.

On topic (sort of) -- I was fiddling around with a necklace I have (not valuable, just kinda funky) and he was poking and prodding me to put it on him -- which I did (it slipped right over his head) -- and he spent the next hour prancing around like he was on the cat(or dog) walk!

I'm so proud.
36.gif

Oh jas, he''s just a doll!

bebe... (Dee pounds head against wall in frustration)... I can''t find the vendor''s card for the bands. I finally decided to go with the thinner rose gold version and when I went digging around to find the card to call and place the order it is MIA. I''ve ransacked my office twice now and I simply cannot locate it. I''m going to look again once all the wrapping paper and bows and Christmas stuff is out of there and maybe it will magically appear. (I hope it didn''t accidentally end up in someone''s holiday card since it was such a shambles in my office when I finished writing them!)

Running to the mailbox .....

Where''s my card from Dee Jay !!

LOL bebe, when your card does come let me know if that vendor''s info for the rose gold bands is in there!!

Was this this show in Schaumburg the first weekend in December? I went! A lot smaller than the one in Rosemont.

Has anyone purchased a setting or real stone from these vendors? Is it safe? I''m thinking of going with my BF to the bigger one in Rosemont next month. I heard you can save a lot but I''m not sure how I feel with going with an out of state vendor where I can''t just pop in and look at how my ring is progressing. How do you know they are trust worthy and have quality stones/work. Anyone have any stories to share?

BTW - You guys got some great stuff!!

Angel, I personally wouldn't buy anything *substantial* at a gem show unless I feel extremely comfortable that I knew EXACTLY what I was getting and there was a good return policy.

As for the show you mentioned in Schaumburg or the upcoming one, I'm not really familiar with any other than the big Rosemont show three times a year (and frankly I don't think I could handle any more than three shows a year, LOL!).

Did you buy anything at the Schaumburg show? If so you better post pics! And same for anything you get if you go to the one you mentioned in January.
2.gif

I purchased fake stuff that was all $10 and under, don''t know if you guys are interested in seeing that!

Everyone says you should go to these shows and look for diamonds and settings but I just don''t feel safe in what I would be purchasing there. (For ering/wedding ring)
I have no idea where to start for looking for a diamond and custom setting. I know online you can find good deals but I''m a girl who needs to look, feel, touch!

Ok, here''s a few pics of the set I bought. I have no idea how big they''ll be so sorry in advance.

Ok, that first one worked but I had to resize this one so we''ll see...
Sorry for the hair in the way.
