Need more pictures.
I think its just tilt but cant tell for sure.
Usualy i can id the area and verify that its not a problem in the other type of image but this one is showing black in both locations.
WF has taken better asscher pictures than that, ask them for a reshoot to be sure.

At this point im about 75% sure its going to be a good one but would like a better picture before I say kicken.

Storm''s the expert, but I think it''s beautiful.

I thought there were a couple of dark spots also, but
I also realize that it looked pretty darn good.
I will get more pics for the team
thanks

I am not one of those people that cant handle the truth so PLEASE BE HONEST

Hi Levi

I think your stone is beautiful! I dont'' know anything about aschers but are there extra facets on the North, South, East, West sides of the stone? I just don''t remember ever seeing reflections of facets there on other stones. It''s very pretty though

I think it looks beautiful!! How long did it take to get pictures? I am having WF bring in an H VS2 asscher for me tomorrow so I am curious! How are you going to have it set?

are you talking about the ''triangles'' reflecting on each of the four sides? that is a normal asscher pattern.

it is very pretty!

Sunkist I delt with Jamie who has been a great help. She had the asscher sent on Monday and had it Tues and had pics before 3:00pm. I have taken strmrdr advice and plan to post more pics after work on wensday. Good luck!!!!!!

The little lady likes the baguette side stone settings.
I am looking at wf''s and they have one that has .20cts of baguetts in white gold for $600
Does anyone know about this setting cause it seems like a great deal.

I wanted this one but no luck getting it unless the center stone was purchased with it

Thank you all for your thoughts keep them coming and make sure you check the new pics.

I''m one of those people who viewed it and didn''t reply. I think it looks lovely but know nothing about angles, etc., and decided to leave it to the experts.

I don''t know anything about that particular setting, but I really like asschers with baguette side stones.

I think it is really pretty!

I Love Asschers and they have quite the following here so that explains all the views.

How nice is that!

I am much in favor of the IS scale for step cuts (on the Fancy Shapes page on Ideal-scope.com) and it has been a while since the last fellow posted here that could fit in the top spot. Good catch

I am not subscribing to the story about patterns - definitely not expecting them in pictures. ... if you wonder why I don''t mention that.

Seriously, I like how the diamond draws you in. It's lovely in my uneducated opinon. I just love asschers, they were the first diamond cut I ever fell for. But unfortunately asscher != budget. oh well.

But it makes me happy that other people love asschers and are giving them a good home.

Not to mention sharing all the yummy pics with us!

Levi,
I think poster Tierhog has spoiled us with his seemingly infinate # of jaw-droppingly beautiful Asscher photos, upside down, right side up, in the sun, out of the sun, on a ring holder, off a ring holder ...

It''s hard to "go back" with just 1 flat image and 1 Idealscope shot. I''m also worn down from how difficult it seems to be to find good Asschers. I''m afraid to speculate anymore. I''m frustrated by the current lack of supply combined with the stringent standards of Strmdr. It''s starting to feel impossible to match Asscher to Buyer in a way that everyone leaves feeling good about the transaction and not that there''s some mysterious "better"/cheaper/eyeclean/low clarity/super high value Asscher out there if only they''d look harder.

But since you''ve asked again. Looks good to me!

Well, I also know absolutely nothing about asschers, but since you asked for opinions, here''s mine. I think it''s probably a pretty nice stone. I agree with Strm, have WF take another picture for you to make sure because there is a dark spot that''s a bit worrisome. No one else seemed to mention it other than him, but my eyes are drawn to the dark spot on the bottom going towards the center of the stone . It could be just the picture, but have them look at it and tell you for sure.

I don''t know much about asschers, being an ec girl, but i think it''s beautiful.

I think it looks very nice. I would recommend seeing it in person. I bought my asscher a couple of months ago. It was worth the money to have it shipped to me so I could see it in real life.

Looks very promising, but if Storm is asking for more pix to give his "stormworthy approval" by all means give the man more pix! When storm say''s "kicken" you know you done good.

I''d agree with storm that the dark area is probably due to a tilt in the diamond as it is being photographed...the photo of mine had a similar dark area and it turned out just fine. You can look at the photo I got and then compare my actual pics...

Tilt Photo
No tilt photos

Experts, when there is an area like that in the photo, can you rely on the fact that a stone has VG or EX symmetry to figure it is tilt, since a facet issue would get it a GOOD or less symmetry score?

WF will do a fab setting for the stone!

no, one set of angles can be off and still get a vg/ex symmetry score.
all that means is that where the facets meet point is properly shaped and they come together well.
If the black area was just on the picture Id say its all tilt but because the IS showing it in the same general area but smaller I cant rule out a problem.
what your looking for is the same all the way around, black isnt bad in an asscher its in the location and the eveness around the asscher where you have to look, this one in both images shows black in simular lacations and only on one side.
Sometimes I can id the side its on from a diamonds feature and call it tilt if the other type of image shows it as ok.
This one I cant do that from those 2 images.

I agree the dark spot is a concern.
I asked for more pics and there was a misunderstanding.

The problem is you never know what it looks like until you get it sent in.
I am trying to find a nice asscher within my price range.

Thank you for all your thoughts

I will post more pics as soon as possible.

okay, i''m gonna try and take a shot at this.....first off, ''decodelighted''....thank you soooo very much for your compliment, i''m trying to educate myself and along the way, share my ''education'' with everyone else....anyhow.............a few folks have commented about the ''dark'' facet that is near the bottom of the stone in the PIC. hear me now, it''s a PIC. i''m stupid when i comes to my new found love of the asscher cut, be it royal or non...............that dark spot (facet) MAY be because the stone''s facet is ''sitting'' on a dark surface. and, noticeably, it just so happens that this asscher is sitting on a black or very dark surface. funny, the idealscope does not show this ''dark spot''. how do they ''hold'' the asscher as the ideascope is taken? ....just my observation of this pic, which...imo.......well, forget it...

another thing folks bring up is the ''tilt'' of the pic. now, again, i''ll offer my stupid opinion...based on actual viewing/picture taking of these stones (two royals and one non royal)....i had to ''tilt'' the diamond at times to take a pic because if i hadn''t, there would be a ''glare'' right on top of the table of the asscher...from the sun, lights, etc. so, i''ve had to ''tilt'' the stone to get rid of that ''glare''...so i can see into the stone, and not into the glare. also, lemme add this...as a picture taker...the ''dark'' spots also appear more as soon as you move your head (to get a zoom shot) AND camera closer to the diamond for the shot. you and your camera/video camera provide shade.......

one last lame opinion of mine while actually viewing these stones....their ''color'' is different based on what type ''metal'' the stone is sitting in. what i''m beginning to learn by actually viewing the stones in person is that their facets are like mirrors....reflectors....they mirror or reflect the items that are near them....and, actually, that''s amazing...........so.....be careful on the judgements from these ''zoom'' pics............

sorry such a long post folks, i''m tired, but wanted to share............

oh, one last thought....just a thought.....you might wanna pay attention to the med. fluor......it might be a blessing...or not.

g''luck.....

The dark side is still present but may not be as bad as we thought
It could also be a camera trick.

I dont need this asscher tomorrow
so I could just pay the $50 and get another one sent in.

Strmrdr I hope this helps. You are always honest so keep up the good work

Garrett
