I''m not Storm, but is appears that the dark area perfectly corresponds with the stone''s shadow that you can see below the diamond. I think it is just the angle of the light.

I think that stone is gorgeous, and can''t imagine how a different stone could be much better! If it was on your finger instead of blown up huge, no one would know a dark facet from a sexy asscher.

id pass...
its 90% nice but its got to me what would be a glaring cut problem thats in the same place in all the photos.
Either its tilted the same in all (its not) or its a cut problem.
The cut issue in the center is no big deal and not a problem but the outer one is.
You can discuss it with them as 2 how visible it is but I feel id see it.

Well strmrdr is the best when it comes to asschers
and I really believe this could be a concern for stone.

Please keep your eyes open for a strmrdr worthy asscher,
thank you very much.

Its hard to find a good asscher so any help would be appreciated.

I was thinking about it. How bad would this effect the light reflection and appearence?
I am asking cause it is only $4900 and that is a good price. Is it worth it?
I have done research on asschers and I am scared. Strmrdr I believe and trust your judgement do you think I should get it sent to me or no.

Thank you just getting Anxious and dont want to pass on a good deal.

Id notice it and it would bug me.
It might not bug you however.
All I can say is id keep looking but im very fussy.
If you decide to take a look have it sent unmounted first then have it mounted after making sure its ok with you.

I am fussy also strmrdr and understand your concerns.
I also think that there could be better ones out there but will I find them
and will they be priced right?
Do you know if they will ship the stone to me and I dont like it will they credit me the $ for another?

I appreciate your timely repsonses also.

levi

Levi,
Have you looked into www.goodoldgold.com yet?? I am late chiming in but that''s where I got my asscher with Storm''s help of course.

levi,
i think that is a great asscher and a great price. i wouldn''t pass it up!

Yes I have looked at GOG but Tim has not been that helpful and they to have to get the asschers sent in.
WF has been great. Its all about what the vendors have.

thanks
levi

I will look again.

One thing I hate about GOG IS NO PRICES!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

i''m with ''belle''....hey, if you can call it in to a jeweler near you, do it. pay the 50 or so bucks to see it with your own eyes...pics are good to see what the ''cut'' corners, etc. look like. and, if you really want it...get it. make sure you''ve got an unconditional return on the stone. like i wrote in an earlier post to you........the only thing that you may wanna be concerned about is the fluor....and, that might give the stone a nice ''color''...

note....i''ve got two asschers right now in my house.....i''m eyeballin'' the heck outta ''em....these stones are beautiful in person.

many vendors out there, if someone''s not helpful, pass. it''s okay to wanna stick with a vendor who has what''s IN stock. in stock means they won''t sweat you about ''callin'' it in. they have it. they can tell you right then and there, over the phone, via pics thru email.....if you dig whiteflash...deal with them. it is important to find someone you''re comfortable with.

if you have the time, check out my looonnng post about ''asscher pics''....and, you tell me what imperfections you can see...i''m gonna tell ya this right now, you see a decent cut asscher in person, you''re gonna love it! you will not be able to tell how square it is...or be abel to identify many of the other ''specs'' we asscher folks get so absorbed in.......unless it''s highly magnified......and even then, it''s tough to tell. tryin'' to help ya here.....hang in there.

Good advice TH. Levi you should check out his thread, the pics are amazing and it''s very entertaining. I say better than what''s on TV, hehe. Levi, hang in there. WF will do a great job for you.

IF and IF you decide to forego this stone, would you consider working with Dimend Scaasi? I can''t make promises but they matched the prices I brought to them on "virtual stones"...and came down on the price of my setting without me having to even ask for a discount....that''s pretty unusual....

I got to see the diamond live streamed over the internet after he called it...pretty cool to see it sparkling and magnified live over my own computer! I got to see it on a human hand for size comparison, got to see it in a temp setting, etc...very cool.

I only say that about Scaasi because you really liked that setting.

you said it ron. a good asscher pattern makes a stone sing, but these highly magnified photos tend to emphasize nuances that are not going to be readily seen in real life at 5 or 6mm sizes.

this is absolutely an asscher i would not pass up, especially without seeing it first.

This is a hard decision and appreciate the views of all of you.
Maybe I will get it sent in and look at in person.

If I dont like it then it cost me 50 to send it back to WF and 50 more to get it backe to the vendor.
That $100 is alot less than $5000 of unhappiness

One thing is currently I am trying to relocate to West Florida to be with the love of my life.
I am Job searching, apartment searching, packing, and fixing all my stuff prior to leaving witch looks to be in 3 weeks
you want to talk about stress and to top it I have a grandfather that is a stroke victim and a headache family.
HOW DO LIKE THAT!!!!BTW work seven days a week and work out at the GYM 4 nights a week.

thanks
levi

it is a hard decision! sometimes the process can be kinda fun...but when it comes right down to it, it can be really hard to actually pull the trigger. we''re talking some big $$ here. i think you need to see it before you dismiss it totally. have you talked to brian about the diamond? if you haven''t, call and have him talk you through it. if he thinks you can do better, he will tell you and you can move on. otherwise..your asscher is waiting!
31.gif

Belle who is BRIAN
Does he work at WF?
I have been dealing with Jamie and she is extremely kind but has not helped with explaining the diamond

I will call asap please let me know.
thank you very much
levi

he does indeed work at wf. you can google 'brian gavin diamond' and find out more about him.
he is the best man to talk diamonds with!

levi....i''d say it''s hard to ''explain'' a diamond to you on the phone. listen brother......if you like the pattern (shape) of the asscher from the pic...ask wf if they can send a coupla more pics to you. real pics. not 400x zoom. and, if you understand why it costs what it costs....the specs...and feel you''re gettin'' your money''s worth...a person or two here has told that they think it''s a good, fair price....then pay the 100 bucks to view it in person.......it''s worth it. like i said tho'', make sure you understand the specs....and the FLUOR.....then go for it.

i too, as well as many others here, understand the ''stress'' of things.....again, hang in there, ask more questions if you like.....oh, by the way, no one you know, including yourself, has ever seen an asscher cut (royal or not...doesn''t matter)...it''s awesome.

Tierhog you keep pushing the fluor thing.
I ask why cause it really may be helping with the color cause its a H and sometimes
it can help. thats more like a question than an answer.
I appreciate your help bud I am just having trouble on decideing on what to due.

I think I may take belle''s advice and ask Brian

STRMRDR your not mad r u.

I just want to be sure.
its slim pickens on asschers.

LEVI

sure have Brian take a look at it.
Ask him about balanced even patterns and see what he says.
He says he thinks it ok have it sent to you for a look see.
You might get lucky on it and love it :}

levi......i''m not pushing for fluor...just lettin'' you know, in case you didn''t know...that, according to what i''ve read and what some folks may say (i have no experience with fluor...) fluor may affect the color of the stone...whether it''s a D or J. yes...fluor may help with the ''H''...so, go for it. tell ya what, you go for it...and then tell all us folks here what it looks like ...then, we''ll know. i bet it''s gonna look great....good luck to ya....

Levi,

If it''s gonna cost, what, a hundred bucks to "call in" that stone - I''d probably do it. There''s so much RIGHT about it, I''m afraid that''s getting lost in the dissection of a tiny, possible flaw that might not even be noticable in person, once set, or even in another set of photos.

Every stone, EVERY stone has some kind of "flaw" ... it''s all a balancing act of priorities and budget. Shrink those photos down to "actual size" and see what you think. Would your gal see anything other than a stunning stone?

I kinda think you need to call in SOMETHING. See it, play with it ... like Tierhog has done. I hope he weighs in about how INVALUABLE it is to really see ''em YOURSELF. When it''s in your hand I think you''ll know "yes" or "no" almost immediately.

Sounds like that peace of mind is worth $100 to you right now. I took a $200 risk on my stone by putting a deposit down on it so no one else would snap it up while I ran back to my fiance to discuss etc. etc.... No regrets!

I did not buy an asscher stone and don''t know much (except what I''m learning from TH''s thread) but I did buy a stone with an inclusion that is visible but on the prong. When I first inquired about it my vendor Wink was very upfront about the problem so to speak. He offered to call it in for me and we waited to see how it turned out. So when he got the diamond he took photos of it lifesize and then of it more than 10x magnified. I didn''t see a thing at life size. It was a white inclusion that blends in so well that you have to look at the side view to find the inclusion under the prong. My point to this story is that everyone is giving you wonderful advice to look at the stone in person or at the VERY LEAST get them to take some life size pictures not magnified to see if you notice anything. I got my stone for a killer deal. I didn''t even have it sent to me. Once I got the pictures and knew the whole story with the inclusion I knew I could live with a minor imperfection to get this ideal cut stone at the price I paid. I knew a stone this good wouldn''t come around for this price again. See it for $100, talk to Brian and ask for the pictures, and finally go with your gut instinct. If you love it and find it to be the best deal then I say don''t let it pass you by! Good luck

I think the fluor will be great!

Completely off subject, but where in West Florida are you moving? We live in Tampa and you''ve just described my life these days. Work 7 days a week, workout in the gym 5 days a week. Just curious.

Good luck on the Asscher.
