I'm not sure how wacky this request is but I was wondering if anyone has ever seen a photo of the classic solitaire with side baguettes as seen here:

*BUT* with the baguettes tapering towards the diamond instead of away from it. Essentially, with inverted baguettes. I searched to no avail. Has this ever been seen? Is it a strange idea? I love true solitaires with tapering shanks and I'm wondering if I would love it as much with the baguettes tapering but of course I can't find anything resembling this.

From a design perspective, it seems counterintuitive, but you never know, there might be great examples.

I have. Quite a while ago now, maybe 15 years? It reminded me of a bow. I thought it was pretty.

WRT the setting, I haven't found a pic yet, but I'm concerned that by placing the wider part "away" from your stone, it could require that you wear a wider band than you prefer.

So, does this mean you've narrowed your search down to a ring that looks like this vs the pink diamond halo that we were trying to help you w/ earlier? Since you initially mentioned wanting a Tacori setting, is that still in the running as well?

I'm just trying to make sure we understand the direction of your design so we can focus our efforts into giving you the best possible input.

The reason I was thinking about it is because it is the only way I would consider baguettes like my fiancé likes. I either like very thin shanks, or ones that taper towards the center diamond, so tapering baguettes seemed like a possibility if the rest of the shank flowed nicely from the largest part of the baguette instead of having a bow-tie effect. That also means the baguette needs to be thin enough on both extremities as to not have an overall thick shank...

I kind of think I'm not going to find any examples of this.

Also, Tacori is out. It is now standing at 90% pink halo and 10% trying to see the appeal of the of the baguettes

My fiancé said he was in Amsterdam one day and saw a ring like the picture above except the baguettes were fancy pink diamonds and said it was the most beautiful ring he had ever seen. He suggested this idea instead of a pink halo, so I'm trying to see his vision since i cant find any proper pictures of this kind of ring that don't look like cheap costume jewelry.

One of the problems of searching for pink diamond jewelry that is somewhat holding me back on design ideas is that a platinum piece made with white and fancy pink diamonds look a great deal different than a sterling sterling ring mounted with white and neon pink colored cz...

How about a baguette wedding band? do the e-ring the way you prefer with pink diamonds and use the baguettes on the WB... ??? Just a thought...

Hi cchloe! I love your fiance's idea of pink diamond baguettes! That ring must have been gorgeous. It would definitely be outside the usual styles we see everyday. If you are worried that something like that would look fake, I think that a ring with a pink diamond halo would look just as fake to someone who wouldn't recognize pink diamonds in any case.

I thought about this and I really like styles of wedding bands like this:

I'm just concerned it might look a little busy with an ering that is not so plain. I hope not because I think this is what I will end up with :)

I saw this on ebay the other day, and I thought it was a solitaire + ring guard set, but it's a cocktail ring with reversed baguettes. Anyway, mentally subtract all but the two largest baguettes, and it gives you an idea of the look. My immediate thought was that reversed baguettes would need a broad-shouldered '40s kind of mounting, because the reversed baguettes would have to jut out horizontally, not slope steeply toward the finger.

This ring is ebay 230908015960

There are many styles of plain shanks that taper toward the center stone. With the properly sized baguettes, I don't see any reason you couldn't have diamonds there to mirror that shape. Granted, the band might have to be slightly thicker than in other cases, but probably nothing so thick that it would be unappealing or difficult to wear. A ring like this with a slightly thicker shank would probably be relatively simple to adjust for baguettes that taper toward the center.
