Has anyone purchased or seen the DeBeers pink diamond eternity band? It looks very delicate and I know that pink diamonds are pricey, but I wondered if $3450 is a reasonable price for it? There are very few dealers with such bands available so it''s tough to do any comparison shopping, though it seems ok based on what I could find online. But, I just wondered if anyone had actually seen it and what you thought!

Yep! sure is pricey - but I haven't found any of similar ctw that are less than $3K. I had my heart set on a pink diamond valentine's present but will probably go with sapphires! But I figured it was worth a shot to see what might be out there!

The price of naturally colored diamonds varies enormously with the intensity of color.
The strongest color justifies a high price.
Color you can hardly detect goes for a low price, well it should anyway.

I realize we should not judge color from online pics, but I see NO pink in those diamonds.

And what in the world is DeBeers talking about when it states "Color grade G+" when it comes to pink diamonds?

I have heard of GIA's colored diamond scale of faint, very light, light, fancy, fancy intense, fancy vivid, fancy deep, fancy dark.
I've also heard of the scale below which I think is associated with diamonds from Australia's Argyle mine.

But does anyone know what G+ is?

I know pink diamonds are $$$$. But this band is a lot of $$$ for what you''re getting, those stones look very light pink.

How about getting a pink sapphire eternity band???

Kenny - this info is very helpful. I wondered about the "G" - but I didn''t know about colored diamond color grading, so it could have been okay! DeBeers as a rule seems pricey to me, and this confirms it.

Jen - thanks for the link, there are some good options there so I will search away!

Kaleigh - I may well end up with sapphires, but I sure love those pink diamonds!

thanks all.

I don''t see the pink

I don''t know if sapphires are an option, but I have a light pink sapphire band on hold in which the sapphires are diamond cut and actually sparkle

I too love pink!

I think the "G+" is the color standard they use for jewelry, but I don't see how it applies to these pink diamonds. Probably a typo or over-sight.

Small diamonds are generally sold in parcels that are not precisely color sorted. If I am sourcing melee for a project, generally, the top color readily available is a "G+" type grade. If I wanted D,E, or F color, I would have to sift through the parcels myself and select the higher color grades. In these parcels there are generally quite a few F's, a couple E's and hardly any D's. As you can imagine this can be very tedious, especially if you are looking for D's and E's.

The ring is pretty but I don''t think you''d see much pink in them. I would go with pink sapphires - you''d get more color and pay less money. Well cut sapphires will sparkle like crazy too.

How about this?

Or this?
http://rockdiamond.com/index.php/jewelry/wedding-band-pink-gold-natural-brownish-pink-diamonds This one has fancy brownish pinks, which is making it more budget friendly. I think they look pink, but you''d have to be happy with the colour -maybe give them a call if you''re thinking about it.

And there''s this lovely thing, but there''s no price - again, you could call and check it out. Not sure how pink these look, but you could ask about them.

(Is it obvious that I''m lusting after a pink band? I have been looking over these options a lot recently.

Thanks everyone - I''ve put some feelers out to DBL and Leon on the bands noted and will let you know what I find out! This is so fun - so glad for a few snow days so I could search for pink diamonds, though my DH probably wishes I were out shoveling snow instead - so much cheaper!
