What is your favorite pink nail polish?

I have been searching and searching for a pink I love, and I''ve had minimal luck. I''d like something light-ish, but I need something that''s a little more opaque because my nail tips tend to yellow, and I like to cover that. Anything that is too "white" always seems to look chalky on my hands. I''ve tried most of the "cult favorites," e.g., Chanel Ballerina (former favorite but now too sheer), OPI Passion (too sheer), OPI Bubble Bath (too white), and Essie Sugar Daddy (too light). I have a few opalescent and pearlescent shades, and they''re not quite what I''m looking for, but I don''t mind a little shimmer.

If you have any photos, please post!

Essie mademoiselle? Although that might be almost as light as sugar daddy. It is pinker though.

OPI sweetheart is a nice light pink and not as white as bubble bath (I have had both).

Try Essie: "room with a View" "Pinkadelic" "No Pre-nup"

Look at the charts on this: Linky :)

I like your suggestions, Amethyste--totally the right pink. I think they might be too sheer, though! Maybe I could use a white basecoat . . .

Those are really pretty! I''ve never worn Essie before but I''ll definitely check out a few shades the next time I need polish.

Ooh, I like some of the "swatches" I''ve seen online for this one! Looks promising.

I''m wearing Essie Curve Ball right now, and I really like it! It''s bubblegummy but not in-your-face. It''s opaque in two thick coats and has a very slight shimmer -- the fine microshimmer like in Sugar Daddy. I find it hard wear pink because my fingers are kind of ruddy/tan, but this one works.

I love reading the nail board and looking at "nail-of-the-day" photos posted on makeupalley.com. You might get some more ideas there. :)

My fave pink of all, is by Sally Hansen Salon Nail lacquer.... Made you blush.. It lasts and is a very pretty pink. I have tried Essie and OPI, but this is the best IMHO.. I buy it at Rite Aide.

I am a nailtech and Essie is all I need. i have on me right now "my way" and its been on for a week - no chip, no lift... Perfect. and i do a lot with my hands!!!

I like the ones Amethyste posted - if it''s too sheer, maybe you can try to layer a more opaque, maybe whiter shade, under it? I''m not sure how it will come out- but worth a try.

Zoe, I love Essie...didn''t realize how awesome it was until this past summer (all the nail salons use it) - before I left NYC I found a store selling them and bought a few (Marshmallow, Blushing Bride, a couple hot pink ones for the rest of this summer).

I''m currently wearing OPI Dancing in the Isle

I also like OPI Catch the Garter.

How dark is Dancing in the Isle? That one looked cute, but it''s so hard to tell how they''ll look out of the bottle.

Not very dark.. It''s a light pink with a hint of coral.

That sounds right up my alley. I am plotting a trip to Beauty Brands at lunch tomorrow.

So this evening, I went to Sephora and actually tried a few of their Sephora by OPI nail polishes. I ended up loving "A True Romantic." It looked like it might be too light, but it looked very pretty on my nail. Of course, after having painted my nails seven different colors, I had to go to a party and was running late! I don''t think anyone noticed my creative manicure (at least I hope they didn''t!).

I go through it faster than Bubble Bath (which is fast, ha ha). NBP has a really subtle shimmer and it''s sheer but covers well at the same time, if that makes sense. I have an issue with yellow nails myself, either from staining or from something my body is lacking (I went vegetarian 4 years ago and noticed my nails yellowed after that), so I''m always on the lookout for a great light pink that also covers well.

I love Essie colors, have a lot of Essie pinks, but I really hate applying it. It takes a lot longer to dry, is more prone to streaking, and I don''t like the brush as much as OPI. Essie''s darks/brights, OTOH, work well for me. If I have the time and patience, I love Ballet Slippers, Vanity Fairest, and Mademoiselle, and there is a really pretty one called Pink Ribbon but I don''t know if they still make it, might have been a ltd. edition.

Ballet slippers and mademoiselle are the BEST.

And ballet slippers is kind of milky, so it definitely isn''t sheer. 2 coats and you are set!

Oh no! My OPI by Sephora "A True Romantic" is going to be a bust, I think. Too streaky and chalky! I saved the manicure by putting some Sally Handsen super-sheer lavender shimmer on top, and it looks decent. I was so hoping it was the one!

Back to the drawing board.

Hi! Have u tried OPI''s I will take the cake? It''s very sheer pink/white with an extreme light shimmer. It''s my absolute fav!

Aphrodite''s Pink Nightie

Love it!

My go-to staple for years is Essie Limoscene on bottom, Essie Sugar Daddy on top, but I think Limoscene tones down the pink of Sugar Daddy even further, so it sounds like that wouldn''t work for you.

I love OPIs A Dozen Rosas. I don''t like the way it looks in the bottle so much, but on it''s perfect. People always comment when I wear it.

Be aware that not all Essie''s are the same - the colors vary greatly within each color (there are several shades of Mlle, Fit Me On the Jitney, etc) - their lots just aren''t consistent. Look at some at your store and you''ll see the variations.

Are you hooked on Essie? Sally Beauty Supply sells to the public, and they sell 2 great brands there - China Glaze (they have lots of "french" colors) and Fingerpaints - both are great. OPI is always popular, and I agree on I''ll Take the Cake - it''s a good one if you are looking for pink! Also check out My Daddy''s the King. A Dozen Rosas is opaque, as is Aphrodite''s Pink Nightie, but they are beautiful colors too.

a super pale one that I love (and am wearing ATM) is OPIs Hopelessly in Love.

That''s my favorite too! And kittybean, I have the same problem as you with the yellowish tips, and this covers it perfectly without being too opaque. I wore this color at my wedding. It''s more of a "natural" pink if you just do one or two coats, and more pink if you do three. Here''s a pic:

Hi Kittybean! I tried one coat of OPI Passion and then one coat of OPI I''ll take the Cake! Could it be what u are looking for? Pink but opaque enough to cover the tips...

I really love Bloom nailpolish... The my favourite pink shade is an old colour but you should have a browse and see what they have!

I''ve been wearing OPI''s "royal flush blush". It looks much prettier in person than if you just see a pic of it. Its a very light pink, sheen, not sheer... just the perfect color!

Another vote for this one.
