Hello, this is my first time posting here, and I was hoping for some advice.

I have found two settings that I like and was hoping for an opinion on which one you all like?

I was also hoping to put a round pink sapphire in the middle instead of a diamond, because I love pink.. and unfortunately cannot afford a pink diamond!

Do you think that would be pretty in either of these settings?

The first is Michael M. Halo setting.. matching band will go with it, looks beautiful and sparkly on my finger.

Michael M.

The next is a Tacori ring, which of course I loved the detail on the sides, but had less "bling" then the first.
But I am leaning towards the Tacori because it is so detailed and beautiful..

Sorry.. I attached the pic but didnt see it in the preview so I thought it wasn''t there! The pic above is the Michael M. setting. lol. Im a newbie..

Also found this site of pink sapphires.. I''m partial to the lighter pinks because I saw a dark pink sapphire in the store and it looked too hot pink for me. But would the light pink look "washed out"?

welcome! I think either setting will be gorgeous, personally I prefer the Michael M setting but they are both lovely.

I''m not sure which sapphire you are interested in. If it''s the super light pink one on that page it may look washed out. I would want to see it in person against a white metal. You may be better off just one or two shades darker, still light, but clearly pink, not srot of beige looking...

So you think the pink sapphire in either setting would look pretty? My friend is making me feel weird about not having a diamond in the middle.. but I really like the idea of the pink..

When I went to the jeweler he said they dont use real diamonds in the middle so he colored the middle stone with pink highlighter.. and I thought it looked great.. lol.

Side note.. I didnt even know the middle one wasnt a real diamond.. oops!

:-) I have a three stone e-ring with a blue sapphire center and diamond sides, so I FULLY support a pink sapphire center stone:-) I don''t think it looks weird at all not having a diamond center, I think it actually has a little more personality:-)

Yes I know I am bothersome.. /sigh

One other question. Has anyone heard of Michael M.? I searched all over this forum for some pics of someone wearing one of his but I couldn''t find anything.

I''m just wondering if it''s a good collection?

Has anyone else heard of Michael M. or know someone who has a ring?

The Tacori halo is pretty but the halo is very slight. I think a pink sapphire would look better with a more noticeable diamond halo (the Michael M!)

Shimmer got her tacori from Pearlmans previously owned section. here's the thread:
https://www.pricescope.com/community/threads/ok-cant-hold-out-any-longer.79978/ Whiteflash doesn't carry Tacori. I believe Goodoldgold and Nice Ice are the only Pricescope vendors to carry them but I think Mark T at engagmentrings may be able to get some of the line.

Thanks Mrs Salvo, and AKmiss for posting the link!

I'm glad you like it, it is my favorite ring! WF just did the setting of the stone, the prongs had to be rebuilt a bit because they were worn down from so many changes

. Jeff White does amazing work, I could not recommend him more!

There are also many other talented cutters too, you can take a gander at the colored stone forum for suggestions.

I would stick to a sapphire and not garnet if this is your engagement ring, for durability. Let me know if you have any more questions, I can't wait to see what you choose

ETA: link to Jeff White, just complete a contact form and tell him what you are looking for--shape, size, and color. He is very nice and will let you know if he can get some light pink sapphire rough.
