I have a pink stone which is mounted on a 14k setting. However, I can not identify the stone. Is it a pink sapphire or an irradiated diamond?

Thank you so much for the opportunity to post a topic!

Impossible to tell with a photo, but first thing that popped up for me was pink topaz.

I'd take it to someone with a diamond tester, a pawn shop or a jewelry store.

Kenny, thank you so much for your advice! I'll do so.

It is extremely unlikely for a ring with a pink stone to be a diamond. It could be many things...a simulant, pink tourmaline, pink spinel, etc.

I do not believe it’s a diamond at all but it's a good idea to have it tested by a professional.

definitely not diamond.
I would guess spinel or sapphire.

It is highly unlikely to be a pink diamond, natural pink sapphire or untreated pink topaz. It is most likely to be either a synthetic stone or treated gemstone. My guess is based on how very clean it is, the large size and the colouration. I doubt a pawn store or regular jewellery store will be able to tell you anything about it either unless their gemmologist has the right tools to check the refractive index, pleochroism, specific index, and etc.

I did some research online and the stone does not appear to be a red spinel (click the link below). What do you think?

*It's most likely a synthetic or a treated gemstone as Chromo suggested. I will bring it to a professional for testing this week.

Thanks for the replies!

Spinels come in all colours except pure green and yellow. There is still the possibility of it being a pink spinel but again, the size and cleanliness make it unlikely unless it is a synthetic spinel. It is impossible to ID by pictures alone. Testing via the methods I mentioned earlier will give you a definitive answer.
