Have you guys seen this show on the WE network (same network as Bridezillas)?? It''s INSANE!!! These people are throwing huge lavish weddings. Great to look at (one woman''s wedding was $850K)...and the bling on the show is PHENOMENAL!!! Definitely worth a look.

I like the people who had a single, $75 orchid on each plate. They had 300 guests. That''s $22,500 for just the dinky little orchids.

You know what I find interesting about all of this? Whether your wedding costs $850,000 or $3,000...you still wake up the next morning married.

But you guys are right, it is very fun to watch.
 
I am addicted to WE''s wild wedding night (every sunday night), including platinum weddings. While I definitely would not want to shell out that much money for my wedding, it is incredible to watch others do it!

okay WHY would an orchid be $75?!?!?!!?? that''s just insane!

i remember an old town and country weddings issue (well not OLD, like in 2003)...and they had a bunch of weddings outlined and i was amazed at what people spent...something like 20k on flowers...80k for a 20 piece orchestra or something like that...etc...i was like DAMN 80k for an orchestra! split that up with 20 people and that''s a pretty penny for a night''s work!
 
I wish I could tell you when it airs normally...it was on last night at midnight and 12:30 am, but they were likely reruns. I just told TiVo to 'season pass' it. The wedding with the persian woman and the mexican guy...I don't know how much they spent...but they showed her ring....that thing was HUGE....it had to be at LEAST 5 ct to my eye. And they showed the $75,000, 7ct Michael Barin diamond necklace she wore in the wedding....I almost fainted from all of the gorgeous bling. I rewound to look at her ring at least 10 times.

The russian couple who got married gave each person a mini gold faberge egg pendant necklace with diamonds....with 225 guests, at $100 per necklace, she spent $22,500 just on the FAVORS. The show is so over the top...but fun to watch.

Platinum Weddings airs after Bridezillas on Sunday nights on the WE channel. Bridezillas airs at 10 pm ET and Platinum weddings airs after that. Every sunday WE has "WE''s wild wedding night" which airs a whole bunch of wedding specials including these two shows (I am addicted to both!)

I LOVE WE''s Wild Wedding Night. I saw that episode of Platinum Weddings last weekend with the $75 orchids...insanity!!! It''s SO fun to watch though! LOVE IT!!
 
Hmmmm, I had posted a thread about this the first day it aired, only 2 people responded... But anyway... It''s a great show and I''m going to record it tonight again!
 
Oh, goodness...the synopsis about tonight's episode says that the wedding budget is $1.5 million!!!!!!!!!!!!!

And I was reading in the other episode guides that the canary diamond(on the Michelle and Rico episode) cost $100,000.

~~I love watching this show!! I stayed up til 3 am to see the new epsiode (that airs tonight at 8 pm) and they spent $12,000 on CAVIAR!! CAVIAR!!! Or was it $16,000?? I can''t even remember, but I do know that that''s a lot to spend on fish eggs...

Am I the only person who thought that wedding (including her dresses!) was incredibly tacky?

Some of the decorations at the party were nice, the roses were nice...but that''s pretty much where it ends for me.
 
Oooh I am going to check TiVo (after I wrestle the remote away from Greg) and add Platinum for tonite! I gotta see this!

Definitely. None of it really appealed to me...it was overdone vs simply overpriced. ;) 3 dresses was a bit much also.

I just saw the Russian couples wedding and I completely agree!! I mean the reception looked nice and all but not $850,000 NICE

...and a second wedding at that!! They obviously are VERY wealthy if they can just fork over that amount of money. I must say that i'm not as impressed as I would expect to be for 850k. To me all 3 of her dressed were tacky

I missed Sunday''s episodes (no TV, we were moving and the dish just got hooked up yesterday) but I rescheduled the episodes to be taped. Gotta see the 1.5 mill wedding!!
 
I am watching the cuban one right now. Wow, I wish my dad would build me a 3200 square foot house (just so I would stay close to home). Some wedding present!
 
Ok, the Russian woman's website is just creepy with all of the psuedo-bondage shots. And she has a children's collection coming soon! That's a totally inappropriate website for selling anything for children. During the show she talked about how much one of the dresses would cost if she had to pay retail and it would be $60K or something. It looked like someone had used my grandmother's curtains to make a dress, fringe and all, like Scarlett O'Hara in Gone with the Wind. Then to dress your child the same way???

Sorry, I'm ususally not this mean but if you put yourself on TV that way I think you open yourself up to it.

On the other hand, I LOVED the Persian/Mexican couple. They were just beautiful and in spite of all that money they really seemed down to earth and so in love.
 
lol i totally thought the same thing about the russian gal...she lived in her own little fantasy world. i loved when she was holding up the dresses saying how much they were going to be designer pricewise and i was like WHAT! for that? and her dresses were odd looking!! i also thought it was funny how she said she was a designer.

all greg wanted to know was where they got all their money! i mean WHO spends $850k on a wedding? really! that''s just insane. unless you are inviting ROYALTY to it, that''s just ridiculous. i thought it was great that their family was back together after the separation but that poor husband''s bank account! and yes she is raising a mini me in her daughter for sure. but at least the family seems happy and the husband knows what he''s getting into second time around, so it must be love!
