Hello everyone!
35.gif
First time poster but long time lurker. First off, this forum is really awesome. I think it''s, hands down, the friendliest forum I''ve ever visited, and everyone seems so knowledgeable.

Anyways, I need some advice on picking a setting, and I''m sure all you diamond aficionados can help me decide.

I''ve actually decided to purchase a diamond from whiteflash and will most likely be purchasing a ACA round brilliant GVS2 around 1.2ct. I''ve also decided to stick with whiteflash for the setting. I''m trying to surprise my significant other with this Ering and thus have not had much input from her about the whole process. I do remember her stating that she would like a classic looking solitaire setting with a thin band. I''ve kind of narrowed down my choices to a few settings and would really like your input on which setting you prefer and why. Please also feel free to make suggestions. Thank you so much for your help everyone!

Legato Sleek Line

Classic Tiffany Knife Edge

Fine Line

I vote for the Legato Sleek Line - I prefer 4 prongs for reasons both practical and aesthetic, and I think this is a graceful, gorgeous design.

I really like the tiffany knife edge. I love solitaire''s and although i have seen so many stunners with a cathedral setting, its not for me, not really my style. If you are able, go to a store and try on some styles similar to these so you can see what they look like on your finger. i think you will find THE RING that way! Best of luck to you!!

Of course it comes down to personal taste, but for me the legato setting always wins the battle of the solitaires, hands-down. Mostly because of the wire work (am I using that term correctly?) on the head, but also because of the shape of the shank - I love the way it slopes up to the head, rather than looking like two separate pieces (head and shank). It really is what the name infers: sleek.

I agree, the Legato does it for me too.

I like the fine lines on the Legato and the Fine Line. The head on the knife edge looks kind of heavy to me and not
as fluid and smooth. Just my personal opinion.

I like the classic tiffany..

I like the Fine Line. It looks like a classic Harry Winston to me.

I love the fine line. I love baskets!

That''s a toughie. They all look great to me! I''d probably go with the knife edge if you don''t know how she feels about cathedral style settings, but I don''t know... I have a cathedral myself and I love it. Sorry I''m not much help.

I don''t think you can go wrong with those choices, but I love the Legato.

I had the WF Tiffany solitaire and it was gorgeous!!

All three are elegant and classic. . .#3 would be my choice. I wouldn''t pick a Tiffany inspired setting for an eng. ring.

Thanks everybody for your replies and suggestions. Seems like either the legato or tiffany settings are the more popular of the three.
MC why wouldnt u pick a tiffany inspired design for an ering? Just curious. Thanks again

the Tiffany setting to me is the most classic of all the solitaire settings. GL!

I like both the legato and the tiffany knife edge. Its tough to say which will be better for YOU though - have you tried on similar styles? Sometimes its really hard to know what will look good on your hand until you''ve actually tried it on, and these are definitely different looks.
