Please help me figure out the subtle differences between my setting and my inspiration

@Moonie , your ring is lovely.
As others have noted your petals appear to be at a less steep angle than the RC ones; there is also a difference in shape of your petal (marquis) vs. the RC petal which is wider on one end and thinner on the other. It also looks like there is only one stone in the RC petal and the skinnier end is just filled with graduated metal beads.

Wow another detail I hadn't noticed! I can't tell if that's just the fuzziness of the photos or if the RC version has graduated metal beads and I always assumed they were tiny diamonds. The steep angle definitely explains why the inspiration pictures feel more "tucked in."

P.S. every time I see your ring I'm always reminded how much I love it!!

I think the metal color is the biggest difference -- all tonal in the inspo so it makes it hard to compare, really.

That said, I like yours better.

No digging in the garden with that one!

Beautiful! I really love your setting. My understanding is that duplicating a signature design is a not something most jewelers will do. That said, the differences on yours are so very slight. I’ve heard that some of those uber delicate RC settings don’t hold up so well over time, so having something built a bit more solidly will be a good thing in the long run. Enjoy it, it’s truly stunning!

True! I definitely didn't expect a 1:1 and I realize there are some ethical concerns with that, so I understand. Thank you so much!!

=)2your ring is very beautiful, im glad love it :twirl:
You chose a drop dead gorgouse style that is jaw dropping to me
if i saw it up close ive probably trip over my feet in excitment and end up on the deck !

I definitely blacked out a bit during the proposal :lol-2:

I love that you plan to one day pass your ring down
you must write stuff like this down, it might give a future loved one a smile at an otherwise sad time

I inherited some rings from my mum and i never knew her eternity ring was from Dad when i was born
kids don't ask stuff and then its too late

That's so lovely and touching! It's so nice that jewelry can have beautiful memories associated with it, it just adds to the beauty I think. If I ever have children I would love to share the story of each piece <3
