I currently have a 1.291 J SI1 ACA and would like to upgrade it as I am suffering from DSS. My budget is <= $20000. Could the experts here find one for me from any of the vendors pretty please? I am also interested in virtual inventory.

Maybe you should ask WF if they can get you one, so you can utilize their upgrade policy?

Otherwise, I know GOG has a 2+ ct J SI2.

I plan to talk to WF to see if they can source a stone for me. But don't want to be tied to them if I can find an amazing stone else where. In which case, but I can try selling my current stone on DB or loupetroop. I know it is hard to find a eye clean SI2 but hope wonderful PS'ers here can help me find one. I would like to spend around $16000 ideally.

Dd you mean this -

It looks like the it is not a true AGS000 because of the symmetry. I am kind of spoiled by an ACA. I had a WF expert selection before and when I upgraded to an ACA could see a huge visual difference from the expert selection diamond.

I did. Just not sure how it will compare to my ACA. I am planning to talk to Sheerah tomorrow and see if she can compare it with an ACA. It is also at the high end of my budget. Hoping to spend less too...

What do you think of this Yssie?

Still at the high end of my budget but quite a bit larger than the expert selection diamond. I am concerned that the inclusions are too visible in the first picture.

For the price this H & A; 2.3c I SI2 looks awesome. Why do you think that WF's ACA's are somehow superior to the hand selected stones at GOG? Jon looks at measurements and angles that other gemologists have no clue about so as to select the best performers. Maybe it would help you to watch his videos on cut of the RB stone. The Isees and Megascope ratings are high on this stone.

He will do a video on 2-3 stones of your choice which is helpful too.

Good luck!

The GOG is not my top choice - but I really don't care for painting, even slightly. Most wouldn't notice...

Having Sheerah compare the WF to an ACA for you is a good idea.

Hi,

Just a suggestion: have you ever considered haloing your current stone instead of upgrading? Halos add a ton of visual impact. Or are you definitely sure you want a bigger stone?

That's a nice stone.

Yssie, can you explain to me what you see in lay man's terms so I can understand why you don't prefer it?

Oh I meant to dig up another link and forgot - here it is https://www.pricescope.com/community/threads/which-stone-would-you-choose-photos-video-included.169210/

Take a look at the video the OP posted and see if you notice any differences, or if you like one better. Both are gorgeous top-of-the-line stones w/ slight differences in character - one's painted (significantly, much more than the GOG you're considering in this thread, so the effects are more drastic) and one isn't. IIRC OP doesn't say which is which in that thread - L http://www.goodoldgold.com/diamond/8892/ & R http://www.goodoldgold.com/diamond/8399/

Painted stones are super bright, edge to edge - the *brightness* is pretty stunning IRL. I wouldn't choose it because I like the extra contrast at the girdle, it makes the stone look more lively to me, and it's a mind clean thing knowing that the crown facets are angled further from each other.. I probably shouldn't have said anything - this is the definition of nitpicking, and my preferences may well be different from yours! Check out EightStar for a look at what how painting can change the look of a stone ::)

Yssie, could not find the video you were referring to. But found a video with the I SI2 diamond on youtube that I am considering -

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=21v3jBtTEmM&list=UUEV7slr-i-VduBBnfv9MxhA&index=80

It is the one in the middle. What do you guys think?

It's beautiful! I really like the 2.44 J SI1 too..what's the price difference? Just because, at least to me there's a noticeable difference in size and bigger's better  and it's clean and doesn't look any different color wise than the others.

This video is from last october and I believe they don't have the 2.44 J SI1 diamond and the 2.25 I SI2 on the right in stock.

I have asked Sarah at GOG to take pictures of the 2.2 J SI2 and the 2.3 I SI2 for comparison. What do you think of Blue Nile Signature diamonds? I see a few I SI1 diamonds available on BN site just above 2 carats.

I'm not a fan of any place that doesn't have any pictures. BN is worse, they won't send you pictures, you have to buy it first and then if you don't like it you'd have to send it back. Look forward to seeing the pictures! Do you have links to the stones?

How about this diamond from James Allen?
http://www.jamesallen.com/#!/loose-...-J-color-SI2-clarity-Excellent-cut-sku-178022

I have been reading bad reviews about James Allen so I am confused whether to contact them or not. Do they provide ASET and Idealscope images if we ask them?

I really don't understand the "bad reviews", they've just now been coming out from people that bought forever ago. I'd take it with a grain of salt really. Anyways, this stone is beautiful! It scored a 1.7 on the HCA and yes, JA does provide idealscope images. This will definitely give you enough finger coverage!! Have to say, that stone show really really white for a J!!

You don't need an ASET because that stone is True Hearts and the idealscope image and hearts image are right there on the webpage. An idealscope image is all you need for a round.

That stone looks good, but it does have the clarity note "additional clouds, pinpoints, and surface graining not shown". I think some people have concerns about that on an SI2 because it could hurt light performance. But you can ask them about that and you can certainly see it for yourself to be sure. It is a very large stone! And it looks pretty clean in the images.

No, you do not need to worry about James Allen, but I would tell them you'll give them a credit card deposit now if needed, but you will not wire money until they absolutely confirm that they have the stone in hand and it is available for you. (That was the recent problem, guy puts stone on hold, they confirm and ask him to wire money, and after that they told him the diamond wasn't available. It was an accident and they are working with him to get him another diamond.)

I put the diamond from James Allen on hold. But I also received pics from GOG. I will post then shortly.

J SI2 2.2 Ct
I SI2 2.3 Ct
in the first two photos the J is on top and I color is on the bottom.

In the side by side photos in the tray, the I color is on the left and J on the right.
