Please help me find a I or J SI2 above 2 carats

I tend to hold off on giving my opinion when things start to get really technical, but I intrinsically trust yssie's opinion. I also thought, with the last set of photos, that it was not a top performer. I can see the leakage in the real life magnified image, let alone the scope photos. I do not think that, after having an ACA, you will be happy with this stone. It will not have the same light performance that you clearly adore.

I do think that evaluating it in person is still a good idea though. If you end up loving it, great! If you don't, it's beneficial to have SEEN the difference in performance for yourself.

Thanks Yssie and DS for your thoughts. I value your comments and thoughts a lot. I wish Yssie weighed in a little sooner because I decided to go ahead and get the loose stone to see if I like it in person and will take it to an appraiser if I feel like it is worthy. I will not settle for it if that is not what I want and I made that clear to Yekutiel and he said he is more than happy to send it to GCAL to get the analysis done as he feels like it is a great stone. I also am planning to switch the head to have 6 or 8 prongs not 4 and I don't fully understand everything that Yssie said but if I do like the stone in person, how do I go about setting it? I have quest jewelers in virginia that I worked with before and I know they have a good bench so I can take it to them if I really like the stone.

I will get it tomorrow and I will try to post pictures then and we can go from there. It is not encouraging that you both don't prefer the stone

Pinkprashu - this is ALL that matters!!! Your opinion. You've heard everyone elses and this is YOUR stone. You have proof that the stone is beautiful in the pictures and from Yeukitel (who would absolutely not sell you anything less than beautiful and if he thought it was crap he would have been completely honest and told you). YOU need to decide for yourself if you like or hate the stone. I hope you do love it, I and others think it looks great. Looking forward to your pictures and what YOU think of it.

Sadly, after HOT's DBTY debacle with IDJ, I no longer believe this is true. IDJ has, more than once now, had issues with honesty regarding both cut quality and eyecleanliness. :nono:

I received the stone and I am actually really impressed by it so far. I don't see the inclusions under the table even from 2 inches away and hard to see them even under a 10x loupe. The main inclusion is visible from the side and I have to look at it very intently to see it from 2 inches away. Again, I may not have hawk eyes like some of you do. I see more body color with this stone than my other J ACA and it may be because of the size. Yekutiel has been amazing and was very honest and told me ahead of time that he wants to make sure I am happy and he would not sell it if he did not think it was worthy enough to be presented to his wife. He did tell me about all the inclusions and assured me that if I am not 100% happy, I can return it with no doubts and he will find another stone for me.

I have no doubt that if I want to send it back Yekutiel will make sure my next diamond is what I am looking for.

I LOVE IT!!! It looks great on you! The size is amazing and it's an extremely bright stone!

Wow, I will have to say, it is a HUGE upgrade in size! Do you love the size? I tried on an 8.2mm stone and it felt huge to me, and this one is a lot bigger!!!!

It is huge. I feel like it covers the entire width of the finger. I am already thinking if i do keep this stone, I may not be able to wear it to work. It needs some getting used to. I will take it to an appraiser.

Well, I might reconsider the size issue if you feel it might be too big to wear to work. That would really limit your time wearing it if you couldn't wear it all week. I know how you feel, though. I am trying to figure out the largest size I'd be most comfortable wearing all the time.

wow ! beautiful diamond :appl: it will cure DSS forever !

I am already known to like big things and may be I just need to get used to it. I may not go with a bigger diamond if DSS does set in and try to add a halo. I know it is a big jump. Exactly twice in carat size and also looks twice the size of my 1.3 ct diamond.

Any thoughts on the diamond? I will post more pictures. I am evaluating it in different lighting conditions.

Do you love it? I love the size. Is it as beautiful as you ACA? It looks like a really great size on your hand.

It does look like a bright, lively stone and the size difference is WOW!

What are you thinking about the stone - any hesitation in keeping it now that you've had a chance to look at it in different lighting?

I did evaluate it on different lighting conditions and cannot really see the difference between my ACA and this diamond. My husband thought the ACA seemed a little more sparkly than the big rock. But he thought the difference was miniscule. I feel like the aca since it is smaller seems more twinkly than the bold flashes of the big rock.

I think it looks good from the pictures. I think it is fine as long as you are okay with it not being on par with ACA cut quality and you really love it. We all have different parameters regarding stones we will accept, and only you know if this is a forever stone for you or not! Either you love it and keep it, or if you have any doubts, you should return it.

I'm surprised that you are unsure with that H & A 9mm honker that looks lovely to me and within your budget for your upgrade. hope you keep it.

I have been test driving the diamond for alomost 2 days now. I took to the mall today as well so I can test it out in different lighting conditions. I have a lot more pics to post. I have to say it is amazing how soon the size of the new diamond feels normal. I have taken a pic of the 2.6 ct with little over 0.5 ct each diamonds(my current studs). I think it will make a nice 3 stone.

Wow! That would be one heck of a 3 stone!

I absolutely love this idea! And I love that you'd be using smaller stones (versus 1ct on each side or something), I think smaller stones on the sides makes the center pop. The proportions to me look great, and I'm still loving your new stone!

I love those proportions for a three stone ring too! Who would you get to make it?

I don't know yet. I am still trying to figure out if this stone is a keeper. My DH thinks it is a keeper as he cannot really tell the difference between my current ACA and the new one. I asked my 3 year old daughter to tell me which one looks more sparkly and she picks the ACA in certain light conditions and the new stone in certain light conditions but she has picked both of them equally. I think that if I bought this stone from WF's ACA line, I would think it is great and not question it. Since it is not an ACA like my current stone, I am trying to find something wrong with it. At least that is what I feel since I am not comparing apples to apples. If I have to compare, I need to compare an ACA of the same size with this stone. Decisions Decisions.... :?

How are you going with deciding? I think your photos show a BEAUTIFUL stone. It's just up to you if it is as good as your ACA. For me (coming from someone with an M-N-O, SI antique cushion), it's gorgeous because I don't require perfection. I hope you're enjoying your time with the stone and it's not stressing you out. :))

There's this ACA - smaller than the stone you are looking at but safe in color and hopefully in clarity. It would be a huge increase in size from the stone that you have now. I guess it all depends on whether or not your eye can appreciate the nuances that make up an ACA. It is hard to settle with a stone though that leaves nagging doubts in your head - the old mind clean issue.

You could make a great 3 stone (I like BGD's selection) or a 5 stone ring like Yssie's!

another option is to have WF send you a 2 ct ACA and compare it with the new diamond ,then keep the one you like best .

I like this idea - I think it's what MGR was getting at too. Ultimately you've got to be completely happy with your choice - 20k is just too much money to spend on something you're not completely sure about, whether your hesitations are practical or "mind clean"! I think WF will ship to an independent appraiser if you don't want to have it shipped directly to you, something to ask about.

It can be hard to separate the difference size makes - *you* know that a 2.6ct and a 1.3ct with the same proportions will look different and perform quite differently but for others who just see 'sparkly' those distinctions might not mean anything... The ACA is ~0.4mm smaller than the JA - visible but presumably more helpful than comparing to your current stone!

ETA: I'm sure you already know this but please be super careful toting it around with you to the mall and whatnot, I don't even want to think about it getting lost or damaged whilst in your possession uninsured :errrr:
