Hello All,

First let me thank the entire PriceScope community for bieng a reliable "go to" source for diamond information!

Ok, So I currently have JamesAllen creating a custom engagement setting for me that should be an exact replica of the Neil Lane setting which I have attached below. What I'm looking for is for opinions or reccomindations regarding a center stone. I'm specifically looking for something larger than 1.5ct (I'd really prefer 2ctw.). I'm hoping for the best color/clarity possible but I think its more important to have a good color grade and possibly sacrafice on clarity as long as its eye clean. I know that cut is very important as well which is why I'm really in need of some direction. Can anyone reccomend their opinion of the best Cushion Cut stone for this setting on the JamesAllen website? The price range for the stone is: 8K to 12k.

I love the first one you reccomended! Although, I wouldnt mind going up in price to $11,000 if I could get a 2ct. stone. Also, my other concern with that particular stone is the K color. I would like the stone to be as bright and lively as possible. Do you think a stone in that color range may not be as bright and lively as a stone in the higher color grades?

I really appreciate everyones help and would love for some more options!! Thank you all!

Basically if you had to choose a cushion cut stone from JamesAllen in the 1.5ct (preferably 2ct.) range what stone would you choose?
The setting is listed in my original post.

Please Help!! :)

A great cut K like that one will be brighter than a poorly cut anything color. Of course a well cut G will be brighter than a well cut K, but color should not make a difference in liveliness.

G that has an outline like the Neil Lane: http://www.jamesallen.com/#!/loose-diamonds/Cushion-cut/1.51-carat-G-color-VS2-clarity-sku-77363

This one seems yellower and maybe not as well cut as the G above, but it is a little bit bigger. http://www.jamesallen.com/#!/loose-diamonds/Cushion-cut/1.54-carat-G-color-SI1-clarity-sku-181489

I would probably go with either of these two Gs or the K if you want a squarish cushion.

Wow that's a pretty setting. Initially, I was looking at the Platinum Rippling Wave Diamond setting do you mind telling me what this is called on James Allen's website? thanks

To "time_to_plunge ": The setting I listed is a Neil Lane setting and can be found on his website. The exact# is R04947 on the Neil Lane website. I put in a request on JamesAllen to have them create a custom setting immitating this Neil Lane setting. I havent recieved an image of the James Allen yet but hopefully the setting will be an exact match at a much better value. I'll post the image from James Allen once I recieve one.

So as I've said I'm greatful for all the responses and am still asking: If you had to purchase a cushion cut center stone to go along with the above setting what stone would you chose from JamesAllen. Total price for the center stone must be below $11,000. Please Help I want to be sure that I get the biggest/brightest/best center diamond for the money!!

Thank!!

carmine, you get 3 ASETs from JA, it would be helpful.

Contact JA to request ASETs for 3 cushion diamonds suggested here. Once we see the result, only then can we recommend which is the sparkliest one.

This one is gorgeous! I've been stalking it for months. It disappeared from JA for a bit but now it's back. The ASET for this one is here: https://www.pricescope.com/community/threads/help-what-do-you-think-of-this-antique-cut-cushion.174602/page-3

Carmine85,

I am having the same Neil Lane classic cushion cut design ring made for me from a local jeweler. However, I've been struggling with which size stones to use for the halo and on the setting? My center stone is 2.02 cts. One local jewler recommended 2mm (3 pts) halo/setting stones. What did James Allen recommend for the size of your halo/setting stones? Any guidance is appreciated! I don't want the side stones to take the attention away from the center stone.
