Finding the right emerald cut diamond has been like finding a needle in a haystack. Please help me decide between these two. Would love all opinions. Thank you.

I would not buy an IGI cert.

That second one is much better looking to my eyes

I would not buy an IGI cert.

I’ve heard that they have gotten better recently. And based on the cert, this stone was graded on August 5, 2021.

Do you have an opinion on the stone itself?, just curious which one you would pick based on performance.

There's a little inclusion under the table of the first one that would bother me. It probably isn't very visible and I'm sure there's almost no possibility that anyone would ever see it, but I'd know it was there and it would always bother me.

I’ve thought about whether or not I’ll see it day to day. Definitely something to consider, thank you.

Honestly, you probably wouldn't. The other stone also has an inclusion under the table but it's clear enough that it wouldn't bother me vs the other one that's a darker color

What amazing eyes you have! I’ve looked at this diamond for over a week and did not see that inclusion under the table! Wow. I need my eyes checked . It looks to be a needle according to the cert, and thankfully clear

I'll also mention that the ASET on that second stone is really good for an emerald cut

ASET looks better than the video for number 2, crown height is a right on the low end line that means everything else has to be perfect. IGI reports are ok on mmd/lgd but on mined goods not so much due to the $$$ difference.
The first one looks bright but not going to super lively with the huge table and low crown.
With a gia report the second one would be shortlisted.
The ASET being like it is that the virtual facets(different areas) dont flash all together has to be verified.
Video looks ok on that.

Thank you for chipping in Karl. The IGI 3.50 ct diamond was priced at $27,120. The GIA 4.02 is $38,850. I’ve thought about buying the IGI and sending in to GIA to be graded. Does the price change how you feel about it?, do you think it’s a good idea to proceed with option to send in to GIA?

If it would grade the same or better at GIA it would have already been sent to GIA.

Does it look like the second one has a bow tie?

Karl, IGI has the crown listed as 11% - 16.5°, what does the 16.5° mean?, please see attached pic 5786DF4E-76F3-4364-BA69-A8FE9FA0A083.jpeg

no clue
the diagram says 11% which the vid visually matches..
no way its 16.5% at any point.

the video is way over obstructed the aset says no it does not over react to obstruction as defined by agsl which has serious issues but it is ok in this case to tell what ia going on.

Ultimately your vote is the IGI diamond?

its the better of these 2 cut wise.
The igi report at that much $$$$ really bugs me.
im not allowed to link other stones if there is more out there that might be better.

I thought $27,120 was ok for it at 3.50 ct, but I’m a noob on this.

Regardless of price, the igi report is my main hesitation.

post your requirements and a prosumer may find something even better.

Forgot to add measurements need to be at least 10.41 x 7.43, 1.35-1.40 l/w ratio.

This was a brain phart or a reading phart lol.
It actually says 11% - 16.5° <-- degrees not %.
So that would be 11% crown height with a 16.5 degree top row angle, which is the row that 16.5 degrees would make sense for it to be that row with a 11% crown height.

Aghhh… well that makes sense

I wish GIA adds those extra details like IGI does. I have no idea what the crown height is on the GIA diamond. Seems to be higher than the IGI based on videos
