Please help...your thought appreciated

I posted a few months back that I was thinking of upgrading my engagement ring stone. I have a solitaire set in a thick platinum setting. My husband and I finally went to the jeweler's building and were presented with a few stones. I've attached the GIA certificate for the 2 stones we are considering. I've also attached the EGL certificate for my current stone. I do love my current set, but just hoping to get a bigger stone. Don't want to downgrade in quality. I was also showed an EGL and GIA certificate for the same stone and there were so many discrepancies. So while, my stone is an "E" color in EGL, that might not be the case for GIA. What do you think? Keep looking or would one of these be good?

Diamond 1: $14,000
2.01 ct

Diamond 2: $12,500
1.71 ct

My curent stone: 1.10ct (possible trade value of $4000 - paid $6200)

I'd pick the 1.71 because on a round, it does matter if the cut is "good" vs. "excellent". It is only a 2.3 on the HCA, but it's still better than the other... the 2.01 carat is too deep. are you open to other options? Is your budget 15k?

If you like it, put it on hold (doesn't cost anything), request an idealscope, and chat with the gemologist to confirm that it's eye clean and inquire about the light performance and color.

** Forgot to mention it's a 1.6 on the HCA.

Thanks so much for your response. I ran the HCA tool over both stones and they seemed ok. But I must have done it wrong. I'm new to all this. The suggestion you sent in beautiful. I don't know if I'm comfortable buying a stone online though. Plus, I'm hoping to trade mine in to use toward the new stone. I was wondering, what do you think of the "J" color? My current stone is an "E" so I'm a little concerned about that. Both of the stones looked beautiful in person, but I don't know if I was blinded by the size.
