Thanks for the kind words Beacon.
Our blinds I think originally all had those brackets but they are old and it seems like 1/2 of them have fallen out. Also, we only have 2 strings instead of 3. So I really am not sure how it happened or if the brackets had anything to do with it or not. but in any case all the strings are all tied up completely out of reach now, and we don''t open the blinds by raising and lowering them anyway. Fortunately, we''re planning to move in the Spring and we''ll (hopefully) have our own place, so we can get rid of blinds altogether, which is good ''cause neither DH or I is a big fan.
That sounds scary what happened with your poor birdy - I''m glad he''s OK!!
I''m also happy to report to everyone that I talked to the vet this afternoon and he said it sounds like little Gretchen is making excellent progress, and she seems much better - her paw is gradually getting less swollen and she seems much more relaxed and happier. So it seems like Gretchen is well on her way back to good health. Thanks again everyone for all your kind words and nice wishes - this was definitely our scariest kitty emergency to date (and I hope ever) and all the nice thoughts and words really helped.
