Please show me your necklace with extender

I've been enjoying the discussion about everyday necklaces and decided to start wearing a necklace every day. The thing is, all my necklaces are too short. Most of them are 16" to 18" and I look best in a 21" to 22". A necklace extender seems like a good solution, but I'm not sure where to get such a thing or how it is worn.

Please show me your necklace with extender. And, if you can recommend a vendor that would be great!

Ideally, it would be an extra piece of the exact same chain the necklace is make from. It will have the o-ring on one end and the clasp on the other so that it will hook onto the necklace making it longer. So if all your chains are different or different metals, you'd have to have more than one made. In some cases, it might be cheaper to buy new chains altogether (depending on the chain) rather than having extenders made.

Diamondseeker, Thanks for your input. I was looking online and seeing these basic extenders and thought that I must misunderstand the concept. I can't imagine risking my necklaces to a flimsy little piece like the ones I found. So, the trick is to get an extender at the same time that you get the necklace if possible. I'm thinking you may be right about just getting new chains.
