I would do this. But with two tone. The bezel around the actual stone with the two rows of milgrain should be yellow gold. The outside halo white. Then I''d do the two diamond shaped DBY bezels (not the single one right above the drop) in yellow gold with yellow diamond melee. And the rest of the DBY all the way up alternating yellow and white.

LVnut, I called my jeweller today and they said another row of yellow diamonds should be around US$500. Not too bad at all, is it?
I''m really inclined to go along the route of a row or two of yellow (be it yellow diamonds or just YG) and then another row of white diamonds. I think such a setting would really showcase the centre diamond without the centre diamond getting dwarfed/ lost.
Gypsy, I LOVE pendants on other people but I''m not so much a pendant/ necklace kind of gal. I mean I have so many strands of pearls and yet I hardly wear them. I think it''s because neckaces tend to get caught in my hair and are rather fidgety to put on in the first place. I do LOVE yr suggestion for setting the FY cushion though.
WOW, Gypsy. That is a BEAUTIFUL ring. I''m not sure if my local jeweller would be capable of doing something like what you''ve suggested. I mentioned "milgrain" to them the other day and tried to explain what it is to them, but they didn''t seem to understand. Mind you, this was over the ''phone. Perhaps if I send them a pic.Date: 8/11/2009 12:14:13 PM

I don''t have another pic honey, sorry.
It would work really well as a ring too. Yes, the FY cushion would sit in a Yellow cup, bezelled and the bezel would have two rows of decent sized milgrain (which would give you a size boost and some contrast, but without the cost of a ring of yellow melee) and then the halo would be white metal set with white stones. Then, personally... I''d do something like the below for the shank... but the kite shaped design linking to the shank-- I woud do in yellow gold with yellow milgrain with a couple of yellow melee (one each on a side would be enough). Leave the rest of the shank white including and diamond free.
No, it''s not, is it?Date: 8/11/2009 1:21:07 PM

$500 is definitely not bad - I say go for it!
