lemonlime -- I really love the look of the first cushion you picked out (and the second one posted, the more flowery one). As others have suggested, you need to see for yourself if the inclusion will bother you. See if it's a "neat" looking inclusion or if it makes the stone look like something is stuck to it and you'll always want to wipe it clean. That could get annoying. I have a 1ct OEC with an SI1 inclusion right under the table and I never ever see it. I also have an OMC that slightly over a carat with two stick-like inclusions under the table and they don't bother me at all (the stone is in an earring though, so I don't actually gaze into it much). So definitely this one is worth a look!

As for the sparkle discussion here, I'll just say ---

that photo stopped me in my tracks!

I love the cut on the one you are looking at, and I am very particular about cut. But do you have the link to the GIA report? If it is a primary feather inclusion near an edge, it would be a no go for me whether it is visible or not. You have a budget over double the cost of this stone. Why not ask Grace to search for an equally beautiful and maybe a little larger cushion with better clarity? This one would be better as a pendant stone, in my opinion. I love it, but a pendant is not viewed as closely nor does it have the risk of bumping into things and possibly cracking where that feather is like a ring does.

Hi diamondseeker - here's the link.

What do you think?

Side by side I think you wouldn't hesitate getting a modern cut antique style cushion over an actual antique cushion.

I am curious - have you compared a modern cut antique style cushion, branded antique style cushion and true antique cushions side by side? I have and I can't agree with your statement.

Charmypoo!

I really appreciated your tips on the famous HW halo! What do you think about this stone? I would love to hear your thoughts. If it works out, I would want it in the simplest, daintiest solitaire, set as low as possible with claw prongs. Oh and in rose gold.

Thanks so much!

Re: Pls share your opinion on this antique cushion -new buye

I have seen many antique cushions in estate jewellery and second hand jewellery and none have compared to the August Vintage cushion or any other antique cushion that has been cut recently.
Any Well cut true antique is going to be a good stone I have nothing against true antiques if they are well cut, the fact is most are not.
