Hey guys!
I've been a bit distracted by near-colorless stones, but as the result of diamond chasing I ended up with a platinum fishtail setting for a round stone. At first I started looking for a perfectly round stone of the right dimensions, but soon realized it would be hard to find and not cheap. Then, when I took the original stone out of the setting, I decided to play around with the stones I already have to see if anything fit. Lo and behold, a roval dark grey spinel seemed quite at home in the setting. So a friend helped me to get it set and polished the platinum. Now I have quite a cheap-o ebay spinel set in an expensive metal with small diamond sidestones, and I love it
Not sure this ring really deserves its own thread, but it is unusual, I think. The darker spinel and the platinum.
Cheers!
