Can you readily afford it? If yes, then probably re-do it.

Know that even if you can get it perfect, it will not stay perfect -- especially with a refined-looking halo. Some of the super-delicate CvB-type stuff -- which I swoon over on IG -- I wonder what it will look like after a half-decade of purse-rummaging and digging into pockets and banging into the car-door handle and... But maybe the people who design and buy those things don't do those things. I never met anyone who didn't.

If this isn't the apt description of wearing rings I do not know what is. Some may say that is "hard wearing" but literally that is my day to day and anything I own has to be able to sustain that level of mild trauma or else what is the point?

Sorry off topic.

A lot of great answers ( but I didn't read them all )
IMO, fixing a "problem ring" is waaaaay more difficult than scrapping the original and starting from scratch.
If the pavé stones are larger ( maybe .05ct and up) it will can make economic sense re-using them.
Digging ut really small diamonds will cost as much in labor ( and breakage) as buying new ones....

THIS....first of all, having clients for over 20 years- and some still wearing their original rings- we have a lot of experience with this question.
It's something we discuss- and consider with our clients.

The finest ( most expensive) cut down pavé is also ( in general) the most delicate- and also difficult to repair successfully.
I do appreciate your common sense @LilAlex
There have been so many occasions when a client will call and say "my ring is bent- and there's no possible way I could have done it"
People don't realize how many times they knock their hands into something without realizing

Karl what is a "rounded corner" halo and how is that different from another type of halo for square stones?

I prefer the rounded look too.

I would redo it if you can afford to do so. It obviously bothers you enough to change your screen name and post a thread about it. If not "fixed", I'm afraid it will continue to bother you. The only issue is to make sure the vendor who will redo it can do so to your satisfaction. Otherwise, you're back at square one again... and that's just added frustration. I'd let the vendor know your expectations early on, and ask them if they think they can execute it just so.

Also, you may want to consider selling your setting and simply starting from scratch, making any tweaks or improvements beforehand.
