Does anyone own any? I am in love with how they look, so clean and simple yet captivating when they reflect light. I'm trying really hard not to scour websites for a pools of light pendant. But if you have one, pictures please!

Not my photo, but feel like every interesting thread needs at least one :)

I saw one of these at an antique center about 45min from my house, I didn't know what it was at the time but I did see it in the case and held it in my hands. It was probably sterling because they were only asking $45 for it.

Went home and did some research and found out it was a POL and the next time I went back it was gone. Hopefully whoever bought it gets great enjoyment from it.

I am obsessed with Pools of Light! They are so beautiful! Prices have gone crazy for them though.

Maybe check out Ruby Lane website? I’m sure I’ve seen some on there at some point....

They’re really cool but they’ve gotten so expensive in the last two years. I hope you’re able to find one for a good deal!

I love pools of light! I trolled ebay for probably six months before I found what I was looking for back in 2011. I bought the earrings and necklace separately but they have matching floral patterns on the bands. I think I paid under $500 for the set when all was said and done.

Thanks! And I totally forgot to address your original ask! I DO have a pools of light pendant that was my great grandmother’s. It had tiny photos of her two children in it for years. Then I discovered that I could dump a bunch of cut stones into it and make a shaker locket! (Sorry for the blurry pics)

Wow! I have a new obsession!
I didnt even know these were a thing!

Are they commonly made from glass or clear quartz balls?

I also feel like @Bluegemz would love this! Did you know about these "pools of light" necklaces Blue?

I used to. It is by far my favourite kind of 'beads'. They tend to fly off me.

What do you mean by them flying off of you?

Ahhh thank you for both of y'alls clarifications.

So what do they represent or what are they energetically used for?
Im also off to do some research!

Love them! I don’t own any...This necklace pictured is amazing!!!

Always finding new vintage items that I want to own! Never heard of these before. Love the idea.

So, I found one that I like and the seller is claiming that its a genuine antique, how do I know it is and not a repro?

Its made of patinaed/aged SS, and the quartz is very clear and undrilled with a floral motif enveloping the quartz.

I've seen this one too, it may be old but I have my doubts.

Something about the bail attachment feels like a repro...idk!

Yes it seems off, also the price is low for what it is IMO. I could buy one online but I'm going to try to find one "in the wild" first!

Can you post a photo of what it looks like? I am also trying to educate myself on what might be genuine vs. Repro.

I have never seen these. So cool. I learn everyday at PS!

@Rubymal Since Im not going to buy it heres a photo. I truly dont know 100% if its an antique as the seller describes but Im leaning towards no.

The seller actually had two of these, both fairly similar. I actually went ahead and bought the other one yesterday. The chain and the ring that connects it to the ball does look like a new replacement though. I will take many detailed pictures once it arrives so maybe that'll give us a better indication :) if anything, it wasn't a huge amount of money and it still looked nice from the photos. I have a wedding at the end of this month and wanted something unique to wear to it.

I think the biggest thing to watch out for when buying POL is that it is actually made of natural quartz. I have seen many advertised as POL but they are either drilled or made of man made glass/crystal. Real ones are made of natural clear quartz. There is a test I read about to check- when reading newsprint through the bead the print should be flipped upside down. Not sure if that is 100% accurate.
