Help! After several days of liaising with JA consultants I was assured that the below diamond would be amazing and one of the best available in the specifications. I finally decided make the purchase a few days ago:
http://www.jamesallen.com/diamonds/H-VS1-Excellent-Cut-Round-Diamond-1529286.asp

Now (belatedly), I was browsing around the internet and found the HCA calculator... and my diamond comes up with a score of 3.4, which of course is not what I was hoping for when making a purchase of this magnitude.

How concerned should I be? I have not received the actual product yet, so cannot say good it looks in person, but getting nervous.

Any advice would be appreciated, many thanks!

Did they provide you with ideal scopes of the stone? If so could you post them?

No, just the Virtual Loupe pic on the website :?

I would stop the shipment and ask for the idealscope image before shipping. The magnified image looks great but you definitely need an idealscope image with those numbers.

If it is too late and it has already been shipped, you should order an idealscope yourself and learn to use it!

Thanks, I will ask for the IdealScope pic, but I think the product is in transit already... Would you be able to give some more insight when you say "those numbers"?

Anything glaringly wrong with them?

I think the crown angle of 36 is causing the high HCA score. Stones with an HCA score over 3 usually have some problems, and this one could have some leakage. No way to be certain without the idealscope image. I do hope it turns out to be a great stone, though!

I would not worry about this right now. Wait for your package to arrive first.

The GIA numbers are heavily rounded, using those numbers for HCA is very rough precision.
