We got married in September, and I''m about to order holiday photo cards with a wedding shot of us on it. Is it tacky to send it to those who weren''t invited to the wedding but who have been on the holiday card list for some time? If it isn''t tacky, should I include any special text on the card to help those out who may not know the details of the wedding? Does anyone have any examples of what we should write on it? Or should I only send it to those who were invited? Trying not to make a faux pax, but my inclination is to send the card out to everyone...Thanks!

I would send it out to everyone. For those who weren''t invited it would also act as a wedding announcement - which is a traditional thing to send to friends and family who weren''t invited. I would be sure to include the wedding date somewhere, those who weren''t invited would want to know at least that detail.

Great - one vote that I''m not committing a major faux pax :) Thanks!

So...wording is weird on this. I only have a few lines (103 characters to be exact) in the ones I''m choosing from. I don''t want it to just be a wedding announcement, but instead a holiday card with a wedding photo. Here''s what I''ve come up with so far:

Happy Holidays! We''re happy to announce our marriage took place on September 9, 2007!

Love, Mr. and Mrs. Piccolascimmia

I''m terrible at writing warm and fuzzies...can anyone help provide a better short blurb for the card?

I have one more question to add to yours Picco...If one has already sent out Wedding Announcements, does one usually include a wedding photo in that year''s holiday cards?

SurfGirl - that''s exactly where this started. I originally intended just to include a photo in the holiday card, but then realized I had to buy cards anyway, so why not just make the card/photo the same thing. I never sent out any announcements after the wedding.

Picco-

How about something like this? http://www.tinyprints.com/products/ProductView_2806.htm

I think this idea is really cute. I was toying with the same idea for awhile, but I decided tht I am just going to send out generic thank you's to guests that came to our wedding....

Ooh, that site has some really cute designs and simple text (exactly what I was looking for). The price for their cards is higher, so I might use a cheaper card from Shutterfly/Snapfish but use the wording that I'm seeing on Tiny Prints. Thank you for the tip!
