My zircon pair arrived! They are bright and sparkly! I just love zircon .
Here are photos in various rainy day, not great indoor lighting. I am super color sensitive and notice the bottom/left stone shows a little more green than the top/right stone in my photos, but I think they are a close enough match for earrings.. What do you all think?
hi! I'm a newbie poster but like to look at everyone's photos, so I thought I'd share my own from the pre summer sizzler sale. Apologies for weird formatting, have not gotten used to the forum.
Here are my purchases in order-
Peridot pair
Sphene: I bought this one simply to look at because of the dispersion - I'd never seen one in person before. It does not disappoint!
Green Apatite (17.31 carat)
Red garnet pair
Green Tourmaline in the sunshine (first photo) and overcast weather (second photo)

Looks like a great color!
Thank you! I'm not sure what I'll do with the sphene. I'd like to set it in a pendant, but I haven't found any jewelers local to my area with soft stone experience. I may just admire it for a whileNICE new collection!! The Sphene is very cool looking. What will you do with it?
If you start a new thread with your budget, desired color, shape, etc, we are happy to helpSo many pretty blue sapphires...how do i even choose?
Here are my gems from the sale. I had been looking for a royal blue unheated sapphire, but then thought the greenish Montana sapphires match my skin/eyes better, and I can get a much bigger sapphire for my money! I also ended up getting this spessartite pair, the Trillian, some garnet melee, and a little bicolor sapphire whose colour I also liked. They also kindly threw in some treats - the last photos are me showing off some of my new (dried apple) rings! I'll get the sapphires set in rose gold, I think it looks nice with that grey/green tone
I bought a pair of Burmese rubies from MCG during one of last year's sales and I finally got around to setting them. I had a pair of rings made as birthday gifts to my daughters who are turning 20 in July. The rubies are approximately 5 x 4mm and just under .4 carats each. The settings are from Stuller--14k white gold GH color VS2/SI1 melee. They're lovely and delicate looking. I'm very happy with the outcome.
Beautiful! Can you buy Stuller settings direct, or did uyou have to get a jeweller to supply them? These look GREAT!!
Very nice! I like the spess, of course. What will you do with the melee? Could we see more of the greenish Montana sapphire?
I bought the settings through a jeweler. I don't believe they sell directly to end users.Beautiful! Can you buy Stuller settings direct, or did uyou have to get a jeweller to supply them?

I have some unset melee and it's expensive to set so I haven't done anything with it yet.
Will you be setting the larger sapphire?
Yes! In a ring. i thought a classic diamond cluster/halo, but in rose gold.
Orrrr something like this...

....In rose gold.
What do you think?
I ended up buying two gems from the pre-summer sizzler sale. I bought a 1.81 modified emerald cut aquamarine and a 1.05 oval red-pink spinel. I love, love, LOVE the aquamarine. The spinel is very pretty, but I haven't quite made up my mind about it yet. I know there are better colored red-pink spinels out there, but nowhere near this price point.
Here's the aquamarine with 3mm hauyne rounds from Yvonne Raley for color comparison:
I had a hard time capturing the color of the spinel. These are close:
Here is the spinel with a side of CBI fire shot (just for fun):
