I got the sapphire. It came in the mail today. blue_saph2.jpg

I was hoping it would be the sort of blue I would love to have a blue diamond in, and it is so I'm quite happy:) I think it's darker in person than the glamour shot, but lighter IRL than my snapshot.

Congrats!! It looks really beautiful. Any ideas on how you will set it?

Another beauty from Gene! And another amazing colour. His stones are like candy. Will you indeed use it for a pendant? If you are careful with your hands, it would be great to set it in a ring as you can enjoy it even more.

I will not see mine before it's set, but here is a hand shot from Gene. I am currently thinking about how to set it.

I can't wait to see what you do with yours! It sounds like you will be putting it in a ring setting? It's going to be lovely no matter what you do. That color sounds like just what you were looking for! :appl:

Btw, I have no idea what to do with mine. I'm hoping PSers can help me out with that.

Thank you! I really do like the color in person, but as predicted the green is hard to photograph. I'm hoping PSers can help me decide what to do with it. I have no idea of what a decent budget would be for a pendant vs a ring. I thought a pendant would be safer, but if it was set as a ring it would only be for occasional wear.

I love this stone! It's so funny that you mention the Marc Williams settings because I actually thought of your Danburite when I saw them! I thought to myself that Acinom needs one of these rings & the new Danburite would be beautiful in that rich gold color! I guess I'm turning into a PS enabler!

May I ask if you are having your new stone sent directly to DK or another jeweler? Is that the best way to go about having a setting made? I'm not quite sure what to do with my emerald yet, but I don't know of any jewelers here that work with gemstones. I'm so excited to see another one if your projects come to fruition though. It will be exviting to see what you choose for the Danburite! :appl:

Rockingruby: it could be helpful if you start a new thread and ask your question about settings. You might get more reactions then. Gemstones easily get chipped so choose your jeweller carefully and make sure he/she has experience in setting gemstones. Once you have sorted out what your ideal pendant or ring setting is, it will be easier to determine who will be the best jeweller. If you like halo's, it gives a bit more protection. Or a delicate bezel would look great with your stone as well.

I will indeed have my Danburite send to a jeweller. Hopefully Marc Williams, but he has not reacted yet on my email. I am an overseas customer, so it is a lot of hassle and costs to let stones send to me first and then back to the States. Quite remarkable that you combined the Marc Williams designs with the Danburite as well
Thank you for your kind words!!

Thanks for the great advice Acinom! I really appreciate it. I am planning to start a thread once I am able to take some additional photos. I definitely need help so I hope to start a thread soon.

That make sense to send your stones directly to a jeweler. I am not sure why I thought of the Danburite when I saw the MW eye candy on the wish thread. As soon as I saw the rings it popped into my head! Maybe I've been reading too many of your threads lately!
I really do enjoy looking at your beautiful jewelry collection! :appl:

So I had my sapphire turned into a ring.....wanted to show it off. I think it photographs slightly darker than it looks in person.

I love it!! It came out gorgeously
Was it set by David Klass? I admired this ring on his FB. Please post more pics in different lighting.

Thanks! It is the one on DK's FB page today. I think his shots are great capturing the setting, but also make the stone look darker than in person. I will try to get some more shots at home tonight....this was just the at my desk shot.

Looking forward to see more pics from you!!!
Both the stone as well as the setting look gorgeous

Do you enjoy wearing your ring?

Sorry It took me a while. I have not mastered any pics like the first (further away reflecting the color better). So I am sharing some close up shots that to me are more accurate color wise. This was my first time using David Klass and for what I was looking for I was very pleased. It let me move ahead with a setting when the stone had been a fairly impulsive buy as well. I think the setting is very accurate when comparing to the inspiration ring. I opted not to share the CAD's and base my feedback on what I had learned here as well as trusting David's judgement.

I think the setting is well proportioned for the stone and ring size (4). Online the pictures are so magnified I must say the ring was daintier than maybe I imagined, but I had also never tried on the erst ring and was only basing it on pictures. A bit of a leap of faith. On other custom work I had always seen tried on a version in the store prior. It is 18k white gold (no nickel) and I stayed with his normal very well cut melee. For $350 more I could have gone ideal cut, but he didn't think I would be able to tell at this size I think he is correct.

I have an inclusion question for the more knowledgeable here. Although the stone is eye clean, you can tell from the first picture and the original photo from Gene that it is not loupe clean. I think the spots look like air bubbles. Is there a name for that? (I'm more used to diamond inclusions like, twinning wisps, crystals, etc.) I think it's kind of neat....it's easy to know it's mine by recognizing the bubbles!

Your pics
Thanks for sharing edelweissmaedl! The detailing on this ring is top notch. David did such a great job.
Would love to see some handpics with a bit more distance to see the look on your hand.
Hopefully the experts will chime in to answer your question about the inclusion.

Ok Acinom, I tried outside.

Your stone looks even more stunning outdoors.

Love the outdoor pics. The sapphire blue looks so different in different lighting. Quite enchanting!!! Love the simple details and the low profile of this setting. Perfect fit for the beautiful stone.

Edelweissmaedl, your new ring is stunning! It turned out beautifully! I love all of the wonderful photos too! :appl: Congratulations on your new ring!
