Price for 1.01ct Princess Cut

Hi all,

new to the forum, hope I do not break any rules and if I do then please let me know.

I am going to sell a ring I received as a gift (don't ask LOL).

It is a:

Princess Cut Solitaire

1.01ct

Colour H

Clarity SI1

set on a 18ct White Gold Band with 4 claws.

I received this as a gift and do not have any certification, however I recently got it valued for insurance purposes and a replacement value was set at £5500.00 , bear in mind I am in the UK.

I should have asked the jeweller is this a price I could realistically sell it for or should it be discounted, any advice would be great thanks.

Try looking at www.diamondgeezer.com They are a reputable UK based seller. They have stones with your specifications from 2,000GBP to 4,500GBP. But all of these stones are certified and I'm not sure how many people would pay top end for an un-certified stone.

Also before you sell it, you are going to want answers for the following questions...

Is your stone eye-clean?
What are its dimensions?
Photos?

uncerted can be a tough sale sometimes. I dont know if you should expected the insurance appraiasal value as these estimated are typically inflated to cover the cost of a replacement- they dont usually represent the current market value for second hand resale.
