Hey im no diamond expert and I really need some advice.

I want to buy some diamond necklace for my wedding day and i spotted one i like on ebay.
The seller is a power seller with 100 percent positive feedback (6327)

This is a journey necklace with 6 stones totalling 0.49carat with an EGL certificate.
These are the stats
1 DIAMOND
Weight: 0.16ct (tw)
Shape/Cut: Round brilliant
Color: G - H
Clarity: VS2
Diamond Measurements: 3.50 - 3.40 x 2.05mm

5 DIAMONDS
Weight: 0.33 ct (tw)
Shape/Cut: Round brilliant
Color: G - H
Clarity: S1 - SI2

Price just over $600

Is it worth it?

My 2nd option is from another power seller with almost 14 k feedback and 99.8% positive.

Its the same kind of thing with 6 stones growing in size

here are the stats:

Gem Type: 100% Natural Diamonds
Carat Weight:
1.00
Cut:
Round Brilliant
Color:
White (GH)
Clarity:
SI-I
Gram Weight: 2.30 grams
Metal Type: Solid 14K White Gold
Measurements: 1.00 inch
With 14K Chain
Treatment: Natural

The only problem is that although this second option is 1 carat versus the 0.49 of the first, the second option comes with no offical certificate but some certification from the sellers company.

Price over $600

Which is the best deal? Option 1 or 2?

Hi,

Post the pictures or links to the items.

My suggestion would be to look on Blue Nile, James Allen, and WhiteFlash and see what they offer in similar necklaces. Their quality is good, but they have great return policies if you don''t like the necklace. I''m just not sure I''d buy an unknown like that off of ebay especially for wedding jewelry. OH, and Beverely K makes sopme gorgeous pendants which I think would be perfect for a wedding. Pearlman''s carries some and so does Dimend Scassi.

can you give me links cause i do not know who these people are.
Thanks

thanks will check them out....im based in europe though

had a quick look and didnt find any like my option 1 (my favorite)
any other suggestions?
Also what do you think of option 1? Is it worth that price or not?

option 1 is a picture of an empty box. nice.
if you have $600+ to throw away on ebay, go ahead!

what empty box? the pendant is right near it and the price is for the pendant not the box!

right.
i saw the stock photo of a pendant and the real picture of the empty box beside it.
why is there no picture of the pendant IN the box?

again, it''s your money... take the risk if you want.

all the sellers auctions are like that http://jewelry.search.ebay.com/_Necklaces-Pendants_W0QQcatrefZC12QQsacatZ10994QQsassZworldwatches

the box is used in all the pictures and the pendant is beside them.

This is not the first pendant this seller has sold. he has a 100 percent positive feedback and Feedback Score: 6327

Regardless of this box issue (that is my risk), Im asking regarding the value of the diamonds. Its diamonds I know little about and need help with.

Are the six stones mentioned worth that value?

you''re missing the point on ''the box issue''
it''s not an issue of the box, it''s an issue of where is the actual pendant? but i digress...it''s your money, do as you please.
as to your question of whether or not the six stones are worth the value....
well, zales sells that same pendant for $399, so you decide.

Hi, in my opinion, i don''t think they are good buys. Take the first item for example, the largest stone is 0.16 carat and if the stones are not well cut, I don''t think you will get a very good looking pendant and the diamonds on the pendant is going to look rather tiny.

How about this 0.3 carat GVS2 AGS certified ideal cut from Whiteflash for a slightly higher budget? It''s at $544 for the stone only.

and $199 for this setting:

Good luck!

Here is the james allen one
http://www.jamesallen.com/item.asp?cid=84&item=1650&name=9121

Its 0.50 carat total weight and $660

i would rather go with james allen than ebay

Aidan, Gene, Diamonds! I'm their biggest fan!

You are right about the size and I had a look at the links you suggested. Problem is I wish to have a journey necklace since its for my wedding. So I wanted to represent our journey through life together. Although this solitaire will be nice, it will not serve my purpose
