I used to start a "Best of" thread every year (skipped last year, I think) where we could recap the year on Pricescope in a positive light and talk about our favorite threads. Well, I thought I'd open one up this year.

Every year, I put the "best" but it usually turns into the most memorable (i.e., maybe not the "best" in the sense of good and happy.) So this year, I just thought I'd put memorable, and just say keep it as positive as possible.

Any memorable threads from 2010 or any of the years past, since we are closing out the decade? Could be about bling, provocative questions/discussions, or just plain fun and silly threads! Bonus points for any links to the threads, because I could not get a search for the past "Best of Pricescope" threads at all!

My faves of 2010 -

The first 24 hour thread (which is no more). Cozy, coffee chat and I feel like I got to really know so many of you better for the first time...your "voices" just seemed more real to me on that thread.

The "MEN!" thread where we lightheartedly talk about our men and the silly things they do. Salmon cupcakes!

And most memorable of the decade:

The PS Preggos thread...I rarely read it anymore, but it's amazing to me how many PS women have gone through it. The PS baby boom has been massive and it's the most amazing, most supportive thread.

The final Becky P thread. Probably from the LIW dramas, I remember that one the most. I hope she found happiness.

The Mara J upgrade threads. The irony is I don't remember the last time she came onto PS talking about Bling.

The Presidential Debate threads. Crazy politcal PSers.

Anyone else? ::)

Iz lazy ... so no linkies. (Isn't search still fudged?)

* Avatar switcheroo
* Lemon pie beginnings (D vs J color wars I believe)
* Blueroses
* The ring that is not to be named
* Please do not use my pictures w/o my permission
* Balenciaga bag madness
* WHITE DIAMONDS!
* Stmdr's courtship, engagement, octavia design & big day

Strm & wifey's wedding

MEN!

The 24 hour threads - I absolutely love these and hope they keep coming up every now and then.

The ring that launched 1,000 ships (and the ensuing war)

OK someone has to find the link to this ring drama. I'm bored at work and need something to fill my time.

I question my judgment in doing this, but here you go. Hopefully this thread will remain less of a commentary on that thread, and stay a thread on PS's greatest hits. However, I'd agree that it's definitely one of the most memorable of the last few years around here.

I haven't been here for the entire decade. For me the 24 hour threads have been EXTREMELY memorable and I want more.

The random comments thread really puts me into others' worlds.

The preggo and TTC threads.

Oh yeah! I remember that one!! It kept me busy during yet another lull at work. Ugh. Thank you for linking.

The MEN thread still makes me laugh. I have to second that as a greatest hits nomination.

My two favourite moments of the last year was a post on the Preggo thread, announcing the arrival of Lindsey's son and hearing via the grapevine that IndependentGal has a daughter. I was also thrilled to see that Skippy is expecting twins! We've certainly shared a lot of sorrow and joy on PS and while I enjoy a good old fashioned bunfight as much as the next gal (the ring that is not to be named....) it's always good to see someone have something wonderful happen to them.

But yeah, the MEN thread was my favourite thread... :bigsmile:

I'd just like to say that I am personally & deeply offended that no one WANTS to copy my ring. Dang you all. DANG I SAY. :tongue:

We've been married for over 4 years now. This is still my favorite keepsake from the wedding (most were thrown out actually as I'm not that sentimental). I showed him this thread not long ago and we were in tears from laughing. God, it's actually more hideous in person.

SKIPPY IS HAVING TWINS!?!?!?!

Yup! She's been a huge supporter of the Preggo thread for ages, so this is thrilling news for many of us for sure.

That thread with all the ghastly hideous rings.

I've of the fabled visitor's book but hadn't read the thread until just now.

Thanks! I can always use a good laugh!

BTW I'd copy this and paste in somewhere in the book... for posterity, ya know?

OK, real quick as my FI is out getting us sandwiches.

He came home and we talked for awhile. I didn''t bring up the guest book...

Him: So, do you like it or not?

Me: Oh yeah, thanks honey. I appreciate you going out and getting it.
Him: Well, you can exchange it if you want.
Me. Oh no, this will work. Where did you find it?
Him: At Borders. They only had two. A white one and this one. I picked this one because it will look better years from now.
Me (suppressing urge to laugh): Oh, cool. What did the white one look like?
Him: It was just white and it said Guestbook on the front.
Me (hurting from not laughing). Ah. Well thanks honey. It will be displayed with that frame.
Him: I know. That''s why I laid them out side by side.

OMG, how funny is this. He picked it because he did think it was better...so he put *some* thought into it. I''m keeping it. I''ve been giggling like mad ever since this conversation. I was cleaning the kitchen and didn''t think he could hear, but he called out ''what are you cackling about?''

Speaking of good laughs, my all-time favorites include Erica's ring reveal, and the squirrel thread!

Erica's cads were hysterical! That's one of the most memorable threads to me. I tried to find the thread but searching didn't work.

I'm sitting here sipping on tea and reading the MEN! thread. So awesome and so entertaining. I've been smiling for the last half hour, haha.

Yes yes! That was before my time I think but it was AWESOME.

Definitely Ellen's peeing squirrel. Omg.

Def for Skippy and her upcoming babies! Soooo excited for her! All of the PS preggo and mommy threads, actually - they are just so incredibly supportive.

The Ring That Shall Not Be Named.

I know there are more but I can't think of them...I'll come back when I remember.

any links to "The Ring that shall not be named?" perhaps? TIA!

My most memorable for 2010 was *Lindsay* having a gorgeous baby boy after losing her sweet Natalie and hearing that IGal went on to have a girl after losing her twins. So sweet.
