Private Practice???

I finally saw Private Practice last night on-line and it was okay. I guess I wasn''t expecting much since I''d already read the reviews here. It wasn''t bad, but I did find it sort of predictable and maybe like the actors or writers were trying to hard to be funny. But I did like parts of it...especially the "focus" scene and the fact that the girlfriend wanted the sperm of the dead BF. Though I wasn''t totally enthralled, I will give it a chance.

Now that there have been a few episodes since the season started...what do we think???

I feel that some story lines when brought up in the beginning of the episode don''t get tied up in the end. For example when Dean (I am not sure if this is his name) really wanted Violet to speak during is midwifery class, but she wasn''t available, so Addison offered to do it and he turned her down politely but gave no real explanation for the denial. I expected that somewhere near the end Addison would insist on having a tete-a-tete with Dean to find out why she wasn''t good enough to speak to his class since she is the BEST neo-natal surgeon in the country! However, this issue never resurfaced during the entire episode. So what was the purpose of all of that??? Despite the writing issues I do find myself tuning in each week because the elements of the show are getting better. I loved the episode with the switched babies. And tonight I am looking forward to seeing Addison deal with folks not attending her b-day party. Wasn''t there a recent PS thread about this very thing?

I thought the switched babies episode was very tear-jerking.

So far it''s been better than I thought. Some things still irk me a little, but not enough to dump the show yet.

My FI and I are going to faithfully watch it, although I''m still not crazy about it. Violet really bugs me. I mean, she''s a psychologist (or some sort of therapist) yet she''s practically stalking her ex-boyfriend. Well, if she''s not stalking, she''s pretty obsessed with him. That''s just wrong. Some of the story lines are lame, in my opinion. I quietly critique the show while we watch it. I don''t want to say too much about it because, surprisingly, my FI really likes it. He likes it now but he didn''t like Addison when she was on Grey''s. I still don''t get the chemistry of the characters. For some reason, it REALLY bothers me that Addison and Naomi were best friends, yet they hadn''t talked in years until Addison needed a change of scenery and went to CA. Also, I''m sorry, but Naomi looks like a guy. When I''m watching her, she kind of morphs into a guy and I get kinda freaked out. Tae Diggs is so good looking, but I don''t find her attractive at all. That was mean.

Anyway, we''ll be tuning in...

Gosh! I had all of the character names mixed up. When I said "Dean" I meant "Dell." And when I said "Violet" I meant "Naomi." Clearly I am not a true fan yet.

But for some reason I find myself needing to tune in all of the time. I missed the last half of tonight''s episode so I guess I''ll be watching that on-line sometime this weekend. From what I saw tonight it seems that Violet and the pediatrician are going to have a romantic story line? Not sure I am feeling that one...

zoe: i feel the same way about the Addison/Naomi friendship. How is it that they are BFF and haven''t spoken in years???
