I had a hunch it was Interior Design. I just graduated from San Diego State University with a bachelors degree in Interior Design. Where are you going to school? How do you like it so far?
I know how time consuming it can be! That''s why my husband bought me a drafting table (the one in my avatar) because he missed me so much. Little did we know that we wouldn''t really use it because I learned autocad after that.
One of my favorite parts about it being so time consuming is that you really get to bond with some of your classmates. We were a tight bunch calling each other in the middle of the night with questions. As a class we get together and have drinks. I recently went with my friends on a cruise and it was a lot of fun.
One of things I''m not so excited about is that there aren''t too many employment possibilities because the economy is so bad in San Diego. At the moment I''m just a housewife looking for a good opportunity. I''m not in too much of a rush, though because I''m just enjoying this free time that I haven''t had in forever!
Yay for Interior Designers! Well consider yourself lucky for having a job as an assistant. New York is going to be way better for Interior Design than places like San Diego and Hawaii. Unfortunately, they are both beautiful but not really known as architecture meccas. I would say if you have a pick, ultimately, I would pick San Diego because it''s cheaper to live here than in Hawaii. My friend just moved to Hawaii and hasn''t been able to find work yet and says that locals usually get jobs before foreigners (don''t know if that part is true though). The good thing you have going is that you''ll be in school for another year and a half and hopefully the economy will improve by then.Date: 9/23/2008 10:14:26 PM

Thats crazy, not only is your husband in the navy like my bf but we''re both into interior design AND my bf just bought me a portable drafting board for my birthday in August. lol I''m currently going to NYSID (New York School of Interior Design) and slowly making my way through my bachelors. I transferred from NYU two years ago over a summer period and got set back in classes because I registered too far past the registration date. I''ve been playing catch up ever since. So hopefully I''ll have my bachelors in a year and half.. but its dragging! I completely agree about the tightness between classmates... theres something grueling about withstanding design studios with one another, haha. You come out of it feeling like you''ve known everyone for years. A cruise sounds like fun - I suppose one day my friends and I will have free time to go on vacationAs for your job dilemma, I feel ya! I''m working as an assistant 45 minutes from my house right now, but the firm is small and the designers aren''t ASID accredited so it doesnt go towards any work hours for my qualification for the NCIDQ. But I''m very jealous of your free time. I wouldnt mind having some time off at ALL once I graduate. Right now I have class most of the week and I work Friday and SaturdayDid you move out to San Diego after you and your husband were married? My boyfriend and I were thinking of either San Diego or Hawaii for his next tour.. which would leave us long distance for some more time but eventually I''d be able to move out with him.

As for my husband, I met him in San Diego. I''m originally from Los Angeles and I came to San Diego to go to SDSU. We met at a halloween party and we''ve been together ever since
When is your boyfriend''s tour over?
