Okay, ordered a sample for the first ones. The second ones offer only a sample booklet for 4 bucks or something else for 8 bucks... so I''ll wait for my free sample of the first ones before deciding to spend any money toward sample books I"m never going to use for 250 envelopes that I''m going to be papering my bathroom walls with. LOL.

Samples. BRILLIANT! That TOTALLY did not occur to me!

My best friend just got married, and I was MOH so I helped her with almost everything - and that''s one thing I took away from it - always ask for a sample!

Thank you enb! Ours is still pretty lax-- my compnay does rolliing quarterly shut downs and turns our thermostat down to freezing in the dead of winter (instead of weatherstripping the windows that leak like a sieve), but they don't seem to care about the copy center expenses. *shrug* After yesterday's thrown out batches I did go to Staples and buy 10 sheets of 110 pound card stock for 5 cents a sheet though. So my expeditures to date on this project have been $.50. I'll be happy if the envelopes I ordered samples of turn out to work cause I'd love to finish this off under 20 bucks for 40 of them, plus shipping.

CRAP! Is the woman (bride) supposed to listed first??????

Please say No. I put John first.
Ack! Which is supposed to go first? I put Jason first then myself. Our url has his name first in it too so for consistency I thought that looked better.

Woman first.

On the STDs
On the Invitations.
On escort cards when you are writing a couple's names on there and the woman is unmarried.

Thank god for google.

John's name is first on our website too, that's why I put his first on the invites... consistency. Great minds think alike... WRONG, apparently, but alike. LOL.

Honestly I like the second one better. Can you print up Thank You cards to go in them too? Then you'll use more than just the initial STDs...With something like that I think you could come up with ways to use them, especially now that you've got mad publishing skillz.

LMAO at my own goofiness. Sorry, delirious from the Stats test this morning....

ETA: and apparently said Stats test has made me read selectively...blah...

How did your test go honey? How are you feeling?

sweetjettagirl04-- SAMPLES! Why didn't I think of that! BRILLIANT! Gonna request now.

Stats test= meh.

My poor teacher and I just don't see things the same way. I have to come home and have BF explain everything to me in a way I can understand (he's teaching the same stuff in Stats for Sociology and tutored Stats and Math for 3 years at the tutoring center; I'm in Stats for Psychology). What I really don't get is how you can have a Stats test that's mostly multiple choice.

Luckily, that works in my favor.

I also found out that for my Brain & cr4p test, he lets us redo the essay questions and turn it back in for credit and plump up those test grades. WOHOO!!!

As for how I'm feeling, I think I'm doing ok. That nasty headache didn't start until early evening last time though.

And can I just add, THANK GOD IT'S FRIDAY!!!

Funny that I still say that even though I'm an agnostic heathen. Eh well...

ETA: Which kitty is that? S/he's gorgeous!

Gypsy, the STD''s look AWESOME!!!!

I wouldn''t worry too much about not putting "Sunday" on them...our wedding was on a Sunday as well and we didn''t even send STD''s...we didn''t hear that there were any issues about people assuming the wedding was on a Saturday. You really are on a roll here, good job!

Oh man, The STD magnet co. is probably hating me. First I picked the wrong STD magnet, luckily they hadn''t started printing yet. Then they sent me a proof this week and it had a typo, then today earlier I approved the last proof. They didn''t mail me a confirmation yet though so I just left some voicemails and sent email asking them to switch the names around!!

Why didn''t I register the domain name the other way around!? argh!

(HUGS) It''ll be okay honey. Just think of it as practice for the invitations. I hope you can change it in time!

Well, I'm hoping for the best with your Stat test anyway. I'm very happy to hear you will be able to re-do the essay questions on the brain test if need be! Grades are, regretably, very important. At the very least it sounds like your teachers want you to suceed and aren't sabatoging your progress. I hope that you do NOT have a headache at all, and that you are having a wonderful night. Get some rest cause you don't want to run down your immune system and catch something. I am THRILLED it's Friday. And a THREE DAY WEEKEND FRIDAY AS WELL!!! WHOOOOHOOOOO!

My kitty Av is Noel. She's actually FMIL's, we fostered her with ours for FMIL when she was younger so I think of her as my own. She was VERY VERY ill last month and almost passed (though she's only 4), but she appears to have made a full recovery, Thank God... I spent two nights last month crying in my sleep. My nickname for her is "brighteyes" I think you can see why in the AV. She's such a sweetheart of a lady. My brighteyes. I really miss her. It's hard being across the country from her. It really is.

She''s beautiful Gypsy. Those eyes are amazing. You should get a stone that matches her eyes, that would be awesome. I''m thinking it''s time for me to have a new avatar...

BF looked through the syllabus and decided that my Stats class is designed so I can''t fail. After taking that test (19 minutes! And I was one of the last ones done!) I''m inclined to agree wholeheartedly. What''s funny is that in the end my grades really don''t matter, because I''m probably going to spend the rest of my days making wedding cakes, and I''ve already got the degree I need for that. This one (BA) is just for my parent''s peace of mind, and so I don''t feel like an uneducated schmuck when talking to future hubby''s employers, peers, etc. Stupid PhDs.

Unfortunately, I don''t have a 3 day weekend, I have no idea what is up with that, but spring break is coming up in a month (March 15! Wohoo!)

When are you supposed to get the sample envelope?

Decorating cakes for a living. See... now that's following your dreams! I wish I'd followed mine. Good for you!

I think it's great that you are completing your degree anyway. Really great, you won't regret it... despite the headaches along the way.

ETA on the envelopes? No clue. They didn't give me one. Just said that they'd ship it out before 1:pm today. So I'm assuming about a week???

That's fine, by the time I herd all the cats (family members for addresses) I'll have envelopes, I'm sure.

Noels eyes are changable and unique. Hers and hers alone. I don't think anything could even come close. My girl.

Hi Gypsy, your std''s look great! Good job, I really like the final version.

My education has been a long drawn out headache. With my culinary arts associates degree and the 1/2 baking and pastry arts associates degree, I have accumulated 120 or so nontransferable and useless (in a real university) credit hours. Throw in the 9 or so credits I got when I went to college right after high school, plus the arts and sciences credit hours I''ve accumulated once starting school again and I have a total of around 160 credits to my name right now. I will finally get my BA around 200, while I only need 128. And BF with his PhD coursework almost complete has around 165ish.

By the end I will have been in school for about 7 years total and taken 2 years off to work since high school. Everyone keeps asking me why I don''t want to go to grad school, and my response is, "I''m not going to use the degree I am working towards now. Why would I want to waste another 2-3 years on another useless degree?" And I always feel pressure to go to law school from my dad, but too bad for him, he''s got to be happy with a BA.

Blah. It''s late and frustration is kicking in.

But I do have a new avatar!!

Noel really is just a pretty cat. She''s got a gorgeous face as well as those eyes. Makes me wish I weren''t allergic to the kitties...

gypsy, your new std''s are great. I like the final ones better. I have a ton of paper samples so if you are looking for a particular green hue, I could look through my sample books for you.

Thank you Teetee... so happy your peeking about still. I love your AV.

Freke: Oooooh La La. Lookie lookie at those blue suede shoes !!! I see your feeling a little... spicier?

All those credits, and your still shy of a BA! How frustrating is THAT! Crazy. I went to law school. My mom wanted me too. Trust me, you are MUCH better off with the cakes. MUCH better off.

I''m allergic to cats too. And I''ve got three with me now. And I want four more when we have the room and the finances to support them. It''s just a matter of the severity of your allergies.

GTN... I like the final ones better too, they are a lot nicer... of course I spent more than 3 minutes on them LOL, and I honestly know that if I''d spent more time on those, they would be even better than they are. But... I just don''t care enough about them. I really wasn''t going to send any out, but eveyone''s asking for them... so, I figured I''d come up with something quick and dirty. If I''d gotten the order of the names right, I would have gone with the original dinky ones. *shrug* It''s on my "couldn''t care less" list. Still, NOW THAT THEY ARE DONE... if the envelopes don''t match, it''s gonna bug the heck outa me. Funny isn''t it? I may have to take you up on the color matching offer after all.

Hee hee, those are my latest acquisition. Guess Harriet in blue suede. They are kind of spicy huh? Incredibly comfortable though believe it or not. I spent a couple minutes last night taking pics of my newest shoes so my bff could check them out. We are shoe-aholics. As much as I love the sparklies, I love my shoes even more. And it''s a bonus that they''re cheaper.

I think I''m probably too allergic. Any time I''m around them I start getting a scratchy throat and watery eyes within about 20 minutes.
8.gif
It''s pretty sucky because that''s the only reason we don''t already have one. BF would love to have a kitty. You want to have 7 though? That''s a lot.

I couldn''t do law school. I''d want to hurt myself. My dad actually used to grade the Bar exams here but got out of that a while ago. But from working in his office for a year, I know it''s not something I could handle for very long. Kudos to you for sticking with it.

I do love the shoes! I almost didn''t make it through law school, hated it to be honest. You may be surprised how much you can tolerate cat allergies. I''m allergic to some more than others. My Duncan I can use as a pillow and I''m fine. My Frodo I can pet for a second and start sniffling. If you really want a cat you can find out about allergy treatments.

The sample envelope got here and it was too gold of a green. So I looked around and didn''t see anything that caught my eye that offered another sample, or that I could buy in lots of less than 250... except for these so I ordered 50. I figure they''ll probably be close enough. And if they aren''t... I''ll re-print the STDs to match LOL.

Hi Gypsy! I loved your title so much I had to check this thread out. I totally did not notice the frog/tongue thing until you mentioned it, but you are right...so glad you went with the second batch-they look FANTASTIC!!!

I''m really glad to see things are coming together so nicely for you...I''ll keep my fingers crossed that things keep going as smoothly from here on out!

You''re doing great!!!
