The tradition of the promise ring is pretty big here in the midwest. For those that don't know, a promise ring is basically a 'pre-engagement' ring. Generally it's just a tiny little thing (mine is 0.12ct, but many are just pretty bands in silver or gold) to signify an intent to eventually propose, which identifies the relationship as committed and serious (as opposed to a flavor of the month sort of thing that is so common these days.)
I was wondering about their popularity in other areas of the US and even outside of the US. I received a promise ring from my FF last
valentines day, and he intends to propose some time in the next six months. I'm asking because my FF is from the Northwest and the concept was entirely alien to him until he came down to Texas.. Oooh and if you have a promise ring, please post pictures!!
