PS Bookclub - Next Book?

I'm not in the bookclub, but I had to chime in here - I really disliked Beloved.

Unfortunately, I'm not a Kingsolver fan either so I'll just read the bookclub discussions rather than participate

B.E.G.-

Anyone can be in the book club. There is no rule that says we must read either Toni Morrison or Barbara Kingsolver. Would you

participate if we read another author? Whom do you like?

Actually, I like TGal's suggestion of The Help. I've heard great things about it, but I probably wouldn't pick it up to read (I have too many other books) unless it was for a bookclub or something similar.

I just read it. I wouldn't need to reread. Since my copy is in Spain with my niece, I'd just take a copy out of the library for discussions

and be good to go! It's a fabulous book.

I agree with others that we should try to make a final decision in the next week so that we aren't trying to read over the holidays. Many people have quite a lot going on in the holiday seasons.

Can we maybe start a new thread with a poll with the list of books thrown out so far, and we can just vote? Unless anyone has strong feelings one way or another for a particular book.
