Purchased Sapphire for e-ring, looking for opinions

I like the looks of that one a lot more than the Gemfix one. :o

And its not even The ONE!

So which one is the ONE? The Gemfix, I take it?

The ONE!!!

Richard Homer's photo:

I know shocker, I decided to go with a concave brilliant from Richard Homer. I ordered it really expecting not to like it or at most to feel sort of so-so about it. I took the risk though because the color was so wonderful and I hoped because of the concave facets the color might be more "even" under different lighting conditions. And when it got here it was perfect!!! The color is just what I hoped for a royal blue. The sapphire performs really well even in indoor lighting, which I love, since I spend my life in an office.

Here is a video comparing it to the one from Gemfix. The concave one is on the right in the video. As you can see they aren't all that different. I think the slightly lighter color and the better performance in indoor lighting is what made the difference for me.

I am so excited that its here!!!! :appl:

Beautiful sapphire! It's good that your video shows a much nicer sapphire than RH's picture. It isn't as dark and yes, the good thing about concave cuts is that it is very bright evenly, hardly showing extinction. Excellent choice. :appl:

Yay!!!! :appl: :appl: :appl: I love a happy ending!

And it just goes to show that you really can find The One!

Congratulations.

So, having found the stone my part is over I've been told. Its all in my significant other's hands now, which is exciting. I can't wait to see what it will look like when it is complete!!!

Very nice, heads and tails above the first one.

So it arrived! Here are some photos. They were all taken under indoor lighting conditions (my kitchen's florescent lights). We walked it all over the apartment and under some lights it has a purple/violet hue, but I can't seem to capture that in the photos. I think my photos look very similar to the ones on the Gemfix website.

I'm still working on the video. And daylight photos too!

In person it has very lovely symmetrical facets and is quite sparkly. Its nicer than the comparably priced sapphires I have seen in B&M stores. There are a lot of different things to consider and I haven't seen it in daylight yet, but I think its a contender. **edited by moderator. please do not post personal email addresses per forum policy**

So what do you all think??
It's pretty darn nice. It's a great deep blue. Might have some dark areas, but they move like you mentioned and that's pretty natural for a faceted stone anyway. A contender for sure. If I saw it on someone's hand it would get my attention for sure.
Now I need to catch up on the rest of this post!

Ahhh you chose another one. I love the side by side video! It would have been a tough choice for me. The one you got appears a tiny bit lighter or maybe it's just a touch different in tone. And it almost looks larger but it could be the cut. Congratulations on finding such a nice stone.

Beautiful choice! :appl: Congratulations it's lovely bright colour and do come back with the ring when it's set and show us.
